Today we’d like to introduce you to Joey Babylon.
Joey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began dancing to music videos on my neighbors tv from a young age. Then learning piano, guitar, and voice around the age of 10. I started writing my own music shortly after. I would take the bus to school as a young teen and picture myself on America Got Talent singing with my guitar. My later teens I discovered freestyle rapping as a different form of musical expression. Thats when i starting recording and producing my own music. Music helped me a lot as a teenage as I was very sensitive and sad person. For a number of reasons. But I had a very strong drive to make it and do something with my life. Music also helped develop my passion, confidence, and drive. It helped me have the confidence to stand up for myself and believe in myself. Today I am working on my first album and I have already started the roll out of my best music yet. This is a new era for me to share with the world who I am. To give something new and different.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been windy, smooth, rough, magnificent, dark, bright, and exciting. I find the roughness of the road has a lot to do with my own mentalities. As I get older I am slowly letting go many of my expectations, disapointmants, worries, and concerns of my youth. I have decided that my happiness and joy is my responsibility. I have lived in the PNW, Southern California, Mexico, Alaska, and I intend to continue seeing the world. There are many unknown’s in life and sometimes that is the whole fun of it. I am doing my best to always have a positive attitude whatever life throws my way. I often find thats when all the unexpected fun outcomes come about. The biggest struggle but also my biggest asset has always been my own mentality.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a singer, songwriter, producer, composer, and model working across music, film, fashion, and performance. My work lives at the intersection of classic and contemporary—whether that’s performing original songs with piano or guitar, composing scores for films and fashion visuals, or creating pop and electronic-forward records with a moody, atmospheric edge.
I’m known for versatility and presence. One moment I may be performing classic standards like “(Theme From) New York, New York” or “My Way”—styled in a blue velvet tuxedo, and the next I’m presenting original, modern music that blends emotional storytelling with bold production. I also work as a model for fashion and e-commerce brands.
I am known for my ability to move fluidly between disciplines while maintaining a clear artistic identity. My work is expressive, cinematic, and emotionally dynamic, designed to leave a lasting impression whether it’s heard, seen, or felt.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
