Check Out DEF Davyne And King Delane’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to DEF Davyne And King Delane.

Hi DEF davyne And King Delane, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
DEF davyne- Inspired by the golden era of Hip Hop as a kid, I always knew I wanted to be a rapper. My quick wit and language arts skills helped me excel from freestyling for fun, to writing full songs with structure. In the late 90s I started recording in professional studios and performing at local shows. That is where King Delane and I first crossed paths. Over the years we individually led different lives, but both stayed active in the Hip Hop scene. After a well received collaboration, we decided to keep working together. 5 albums later, our musical chemistry is undeniable and our stage presence is uniquely memorable.

King Delane- Growing up I didn’t have much. I moved a lot. Not just city to city, but state to state. So as an artistic outlet I began writing, which later turned into song writing. I was raised heavily on 80’s and 90’s hip hop and R&B. Later in life that became a huge influence on the sound DEF davyne and myself created. We have a blend of golden era hip hop, R&B, and modern rap all in one. That sound has created a lot of opportunities for us, including working alongside legends on stage and in the studio.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
DEF davyne- When home studios started becoming more popular I was lucky enough to have a professional set up which helped me hone my craft on a daily basis. Unfortunately, I was the victim of a burglary and my microphone was stolen. They stole other higher value things too, but losing that particular item left me feeling discouraged. I eventually replaced it, but it made me realize how important creating music was to me.

King Delane- The entertainment business is full of obstacles. Everything is trial and error for me. I’ve had businesses and failed. I’ve been signed to labels and been shelved. But those experiences are what helped us create Aristocrat Entertainment.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
DEF davyne- Being a Hip Hop artist is my number one passion, but I also edit videos and produce beats. Under the Aristocrat Entertainment umbrella, I am able to bring all of my skills together with a team of like-minded professionals. Our willingness as a group to keep learning and growing constantly is what makes us stand out amongst our peers and competitors.

King Delane- Aside from being a Hip Hop artist, I’m an entrepreneur. I ghost write. I do artist management and development. I have a real ear for talent and do my best to help other artists get to the next level of their careers.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
DEF davyne- My favorite place to write songs is in nature. Whether hiking in the forest or relaxing on the beach, the Oregon coast has endless spots for me to boost my creativity.

King Delane- My mind is doesn’t stop running. I’m constantly thinking, planning, and strategizing. So aside from writing to clear my mind, I plan a lot of trips and vacations to free my thoughts.
