Hidden Gems: Meet Chevone Card of Chevone + Co/Pearl & Root LLC/ Luminary Consulting Co

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chevone Card.

Hi Chevone, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey didn’t start with a business plan — it started with survival.
After becoming a mom, I experienced postpartum depression and postpartum rage. I felt disconnected from myself, overwhelmed, and unsure of who I was outside of motherhood. Creating content began as a quiet outlet — a way to feel human again, to get dressed, to show up, and to share honestly in a season where I felt lost. During that time, my husband was a steady source of support — encouraging me to create, reminding me of my voice, and pushing me to keep showing up even when I doubted myself.
What started as a creative release slowly turned into something more. I began building community, learning how to tell stories, understanding what truly resonates with people, and — without realizing it at first — developing real marketing skills. Brands started reaching out, content became consistent income, and eventually content creation became my full-time career.
As my confidence grew, so did my vision. Alongside my best friend and business partner, Crystal, I co-own and opened Pearl & Root Luxury Head Spa in Medford, Oregon — the first spa in our area with a sole focus on head spas and scalp health. From the beginning, I led the branding, marketing, and creative direction, building the business from the ground up. My husband has continued to support the spa behind the scenes as well, fully believing in the vision and standing alongside me as it grew.
As demand expanded, Crystal and I grew beyond services and created an educational course to train other professionals in head spa techniques, allowing us to elevate the industry and share what we’d built.
That evolution naturally led to my work today. I now offer marketing services through Luminary Consulting Co, which I run alongside Crystal. Together, we help businesses build brands rooted in authenticity, strategy, and connection. What began as a healing outlet ultimately became the foundation of my career — and now my purpose is helping others grow, tell their stories, and build businesses that feel aligned, intentional, and sustainable.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. It’s been anything but smooth.
The earliest struggles were internal. Navigating postpartum depression and postpartum rage while trying to rediscover who I was made even small steps feel heavy. Showing up consistently, believing in myself, and trusting that what I was building mattered took time and a lot of inner work.
As the business side grew, the challenges shifted. Turning content creation into a full-time career meant learning how to treat creativity like a business. I had to set boundaries, negotiate contracts, manage burnout, and stay consistent in an industry that changes constantly. Building something visible also came with self-doubt and the pressure of always being “on.”
Opening and scaling Pearl & Root Luxury Head Spa brought a new set of challenges. We built a brand from the ground up while also educating our community on scalp health and head spa services. Managing growth, systems, and expectations while protecting the heart of the business was a learning curve. Creating an educational course added another layer, requiring structure, leadership, and long-term vision beyond daily services.
One of the biggest ongoing challenges has been balancing ambition with real life. Motherhood, marriage, friendships, and mental health all exist alongside running multiple businesses. Every challenge sharpened my skills, strengthened my confidence, and clarified the kind of leader and business owner I want to be.
The road hasn’t been smooth, but it has been deeply intentional, and every struggle has played a role in getting me where I am today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At the heart of everything I do are three interconnected brands, each built with intention, lived experience, and a deep focus on community: Pearl & Root Luxury Head Spa, Luminary Consulting Co, and Chevone + Co.
Pearl & Root Luxury Head Spa is a co-owned, scalp-health–focused spa designed to offer something truly different. We were the first spa in our area solely dedicated to head spas and scalp health, blending elevated ritual, education, and results. Our services go far beyond relaxation. We specialize in scalp health, nervous system regulation, and intentional care that connects beauty with wellness. We are known for creating an experience that feels both luxurious and grounding, while also educating our clients on the importance of scalp health as the foundation of hair and overall well-being.
As demand grew, we expanded beyond services into education by creating a professional head spa training course. This allows us to help elevate the industry, empower other providers, and ensure head spa services are delivered with integrity and consistency. Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built and the way Pearl & Root introduced an entirely new category of care to our region.
Luminary Consulting Co, which I co-run with my best friend and business partner, Crystal, is where strategy meets heart. We specialize in brand strategy, social media marketing, content direction, and launch support for businesses that want to grow in a way that feels aligned and sustainable. What sets Luminary apart is that our strategies are built from real-world experience. Everything we teach and implement has been tested through growing our own businesses, not just studied in theory.
Chevone + Co is my personal content creation and storytelling platform, where it all began. Through lifestyle, beauty, fashion, and motherhood-focused content, I create authentic, trust-driven partnerships with brands. I’m known for blending real life with aspirational storytelling in a way that converts, builds community, and feels genuinely human. Chevone + Co is not just about content. It’s the foundation that sharpened my voice, storytelling, and marketing instincts, and it continues to influence how I approach both brand-building and consulting today.
What I want readers to know most is that all three brands are rooted in the same belief. Growth happens when businesses and creators lead with clarity, integrity, and connection. Whether someone is experiencing Pearl & Root, partnering with Luminary, or engaging with Chevone + Co, the goal is always the same: to create meaningful experiences, build trust, and help others grow with intention.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Yes, absolutely. I’m very intentional about the resources I use because they directly support how I show up as a founder, marketer, creator, and mom. These are the tools and resources that genuinely help me do my best, both professionally and personally.
From a business and marketing perspective, I rely heavily on Canva for content creation, brand visuals, and marketing assets. Canva allows me to move quickly while still maintaining a polished, on-brand presence across platforms, which is essential when balancing multiple businesses and creative projects.
I’m also extremely calendar-driven. Google Calendar is non-negotiable for me. If it’s not on my calendar, it doesn’t exist or happen. Between managing multiple businesses, content schedules, family life, and client commitments, having everything clearly mapped out allows me to stay organized and mentally clear.
To support my thought process and decision-making, I use a planner and journal with guided prompts to help me sort through ideas, priorities, and emotions. Writing things out helps me slow down, gain clarity, and approach both life and work with intention, without turning personal time into more “work.”
Outside of work, reading is purely a form of decompression for me. I love using the Kindle app as an easy way to unplug and mentally reset. I’m a strong advocate for self-care and believe rest, boundaries, and nervous system regulation are essential, not optional, especially for women building businesses and families at the same time.
On lighter days, I’ll occasionally listen to Call Her Daddy when there’s a guest I’m familiar with or genuinely interested in. It’s a simple, fun way for me to decompress without overthinking.
Overall, the resources that help me most are the ones that support structure, clarity, and balance. When life feels organized and supported, creativity and leadership flow much more naturally.
