Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Joann.
Hi Christina, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey began with a deep desire to use my voice for something bigger than myself. What started as a personal goal to grow in confidence and leadership quickly became a calling to serve others and create opportunities for women and girls to feel seen, supported, and empowered.
After experiencing the loss of my sister to cystic fibrosis, my purpose became clearer. I realized that my platform could be more than crowns and sashes, it could be a way to honor her life, raise awareness, and make a real impact.
That moment changed the way I viewed service, leadership, and what it truly means to represent.
Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to combining advocacy, entrepreneurship, and community service. I founded the Oregon Rose Pageant to create a system rooted in confidence, kindness, and purpose. Through this organization and my personal titles, I’ve been able to partner with nonprofits, local businesses, and community organizations, while also mentoring young women and encouraging them to use their voices for good.
Today, I stand as a leader who believes that growth comes from both challenge and compassion. Every step, whether on stage, in the community, or behind the scenes, has shaped me into someone who leads with heart,
resilience, and intention.
My story is still being written, but my mission remains the same: to turn purpose into action and inspire others to bloom into who they are meant to be.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges I have faced is learning how to keep going even when life feels heavy. Losing my sister to cystic fibrosis changed my world, and there were moments when grief made it hard to show up, stay motivated, or believe in myself. Turning that pain into purpose took time, strength, and courage.
Another challenge has been building something from the ground up. Creating a pageant system and personal brand required stepping outside my comfort zone, learning new skills, facing rejection, and sometimes hearing “no” more than “yes.” There were moments of doubt where I questioned whether I was doing enough or if I was even capable, but I chose to grow instead of quit.
Balancing school, leadership, community service, and personal life has also been a struggle. There have been late nights, sacrifices, and moments of burnout. However, each obstacle taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of believing in my purpose even when the path is unclear.
Every challenge has shaped me into a stronger, more compassionate leader. I now see obstacles not as roadblocks, but as reminders that growth happens when we refuse to give up on ourselves and the vision we were called to create.
We’ve been impressed with Oregon Rose Pageant , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Oregon Rose Pageant is a purpose-driven pageant system and empowerment brand created to inspire women and girls of all ages to lead with confidence, compassion, and service.
We are more than a competition, we are a community built on growth, kindness, and real impact.
What sets Oregon Rose Pageant apart is our heart. Our program is rooted in advocacy, leadership development, and community involvement, while still celebrating individuality, elegance, and confidence. We proudly encourage our delegates to use their voices for causes they care about and to become role models in their communities.
We specialize in:
• Confidence and leadership development
• Community service and advocacy opportunities
• Personal branding and public speaking growth
• Creating a safe, uplifting space for all divisions
• Purpose-focused pageantry with real-world impact
Our delegates are known not just for how they shine on stage, but for how they serve off stage. Through partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations, we provide our titleholders with meaningful opportunities to grow, give back, and make a difference.
One of our proudest initiatives is the “Bloom Like Jessica” Award, created in honor of my sister, to recognize delegates who show exceptional compassion, resilience, and service, reflecting our mission to turn purpose into action.
At Oregon Rose Pageant, we believe a crown is not the destination, it is the responsibility. Our brand stands for confidence, kindness, leadership, and legacy. We exist to help every woman and girl realize her worth, bloom into her purpose, and know that her story matters.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success is not measured by titles, trophies, or numbers, it’s measured by impact. Success means knowing that what I do leaves people better than I found them. It’s about creating opportunities, inspiring confidence, and helping others believe in themselves even when they don’t yet see their own worth.
Success is also growth. It’s choosing to keep going when things are hard, learning from every setback, and allowing challenges to shape me into a stronger, more compassionate leader.
It’s having the courage to follow my purpose and the faith to trust the journey, even when the path is uncertain.
Most importantly, success is alignment, when my values, actions, and heart are working together. If I can look back and know that I served with integrity, led with love, and used my voice to make a difference, then I consider that a life well lived and a true definition of success.
