Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordin Lynn.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I first got started in the permanent makeup industry in 2018 when I took my very first PMU training in Los Angeles with a very well-known and credible microblading company. I had always been extremely artistic, I actually studied art in college, so the transition into permanent makeup felt very natural for me. Even before entering the industry, I had spent years doing freelance makeup for proms, weddings, and professional events, so working with faces, symmetry, and aesthetics was already something I loved.
After completing my training, I came back and really hit the ground running at the beginning of 2019. I became licensed through the state of Washington and began building my clientele quickly. My focus at first was primarily brows, and my business grew rapidly.
About two years later, my career expanded even further when I began training other artists. Since then, I’ve been a master trainer and have had the opportunity to mentor many students entering the industry. Over time, my work opened doors internationally. I now travel around the world speaking at conferences within the permanent makeup industry. I’ve also hosted my own conferences here in the United States and have had the honor of being invited as both an international speaker and judge.
As my career continued to grow, I began creating educational resources for artists as well. I’ve written books and developed guided workbooks designed to support and elevate permanent makeup professionals. Most recently, I’ve also started working on developing and inventing a machine for the industry.
Looking back over the past almost eight years, my career has grown far beyond what I originally imagined. It’s been an incredible journey filled with amazing people, opportunities, and the ability to contribute to an industry that I’m deeply passionate about.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like most entrepreneurs, there have been challenges along the way that really tested my resilience. One of the most significant moments happened around 2022 when I was involved in an almost fatal accident. I nearly lost my life and ended up in a wheelchair for about six months during my recovery.
That experience changed a lot for me. It’s actually something I speak about internationally now, how resilience and passion can carry you through the hardest moments. Even during that time, my love for this industry kept me going. I continued working out of the salon I owned in downtown Vancouver near the waterfront, doing brows and even teaching trainings from my wheelchair. I wasn’t ready to give up on the career and community I had built.
Being a single mom to two girls has also added another layer of responsibility and motivation. Balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship hasn’t always been easy, but it has pushed me to stay focused, resilient, and consistent. Those experiences shaped not only the business owner I’ve become but also the person I am today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work today focuses on both cosmetic and paramedical permanent makeup. On the cosmetic side, I specialize in brow procedures such as microblading, ombré powder brows, and advanced 3D hair-stroke machine brows. I also perform lip blushing, which enhances the natural color and shape of the lips, as well as eyeliner tattooing to create definition for clients who want a long-lasting beauty solution.
Another area of my work that is very meaningful to me is paramedical tattooing. This includes procedures like dark lip neutralization, scar camouflage, and stretch mark camouflage. These services go far beyond aesthetics, they help restore confidence for people who have experienced trauma to the skin or medical challenges. For example, I work with clients who have alopecia or individuals who have gone through cancer treatments and lost their brows or lashes. Being able to help restore those features and give someone a sense of themselves again is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
In addition to working with clients, I’m also a master trainer. I train artists in brow techniques and lip blush procedures, mentoring them not only on the technical skills but also on how to build sustainable careers within the industry. Education and mentorship have become a huge part of my mission because I want to elevate the standards and professionalism of permanent makeup globally.
What I’m most proud of, though, is the way I’ve evolved within this industry and the resilience that’s been required to get here. I’ve faced some incredibly difficult moments in my life, including a nearly fatal accident that left me in a wheelchair for months.
Instead of allowing that to stop my career, I continued working and teaching, and it ultimately became part of the message I share when I speak internationally.
What sets me apart, and why I’m often invited to speak, is that I talk about more than just technique or business. I speak about mindset. I teach artists and entrepreneurs the power of manifestation, mental discipline, and how to overcome limitations that might seem impossible at first.
I truly believe that our mindset shapes what we’re capable of creating, and my own journey is proof that even in the most difficult circumstances, resilience, consistency, and belief in your vision can allow you to exceed what you once thought was possible.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I would describe myself as a bit of a tomboy. I was very active and played a lot of sports, lettering in multiple sports throughout high school. I’ve always loved learning and staying engaged in different activities, which has carried over into my personal and professional life.
Outside of work, I maintain a very active and healthy lifestyle. I love hiking, playing sports, and staying physically active whenever I can. I also coach my daughter’s middle school soccer team, which is something I really enjoy, it allows me to combine my love for sports with mentoring and teaching young athletes. Staying active, healthy, and involved in the community has always been an important part of who I am.
I also really value giving back. I coached my daughter’s middle school soccer team when she was in middle school, which was such a rewarding experience for me, helping young athletes learn teamwork and confidence.
Before I entered the permanent makeup industry, I also spent time as a missionary, which shaped a lot of my perspective on service, resilience, and connecting with people.
That experience taught me the importance of dedication, empathy, and making a positive impact, and those values continue to guide both my personal life and professional work today.
