Inspiring Conversations with Heidi Moore of Heidi Moore Agency Country Financial

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heidi Moore.

Hi Heidi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve spent nearly 20 years with COUNTRY Financial, where I specialize in farm and ranch insurance solutions as well as small business coverage. I operate a full-service insurance agency proudly serving the Pacific Northwest, working closely with clients who live, work, and build businesses rooted in agriculture and rural communities.

My passion for this work comes honestly. I was raised on a fourth-generation dairy farm in Tillamook County, and agriculture continues to be a big part of my life today. While our operation is smaller now, we still farm—raising beef cows each year to feed friends and family and growing flowers along the way. Farming isn’t just my background; it’s part of who I am.

Along the way, my work also expanded into the wine industry. I was part of a pilot program with COUNTRY Financial that focused on wineries. At the time, I knew absolutely nothing about the wine business, so I went back to Linfield University through their Continuing Education program to better understand the industry and the business elements that make wineries and vineyards successful, from farming and operations to marketing and branding.

Through those connections and relationships, and a lot of curiosity along the way, the Wine Crush Podcast was born in partnership with Portland Radio Project. What started as a way to learn more about the people behind the wines has grown into an incredible journey. We’re now heading into Season 9, with over 100 shows and more than 200 interviews with winemakers, growers, and industry professionals. It’s been an amazing path filled with learning, storytelling, and building relationships across the wine community.

At the heart of everything I do is a deep belief in small businesses and agricultural communities. I’m a proud advocate for farm life and entrepreneurship and love being a cheerleader for people working hard to build something meaningful.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not smooth in any way. Insurance is a very tough field to be successful in. Nobody really like you until they need you. So finding my voice and style has morphed over the years. There is never a time to where you can set it on cruise control. We are very client focused in our office and make relationships priority. Insurance doesn’t happen from 9-5 Monday through Friday, so my phone is always on. I have an incredible office of women who are hard working , empathetic, incredibly smart and very client focused. There have been many times over the last 18 years I have cried because it’s gotten hard. But I also know that hard work and rough roads lead to great things. I love what i do and strive to be a student at all times. The industry is constantly changing, farming and small business are changing and people as a whole change priorities regularly. We are here to bend when they do.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Heidi Moore Agency Country Financial?
Since opening our doors in 2009, our insurance agency has been built on a simple idea: relationships come first. Insurance can feel like a maze of fine print and confusing language, but our job is to translate it into something that actually makes sense. We take the time to walk clients through what their policies do and what they don’t do, so they can make confident decisions about protecting the people, businesses, and land they care about most.

Agriculture runs deep in our story. As a generational farmer’s daughter, I grew up understanding the grit, early mornings, and pride that come with life on the land. That background naturally shaped the heart of our business. While we proudly serve a wide range of clients, we especially love working with farms, small businesses, and wineries. These are passionate, hardworking people building something meaningful, and helping protect that work is something we take seriously.

Our agency is powered by a hardworking group of women who believe service should be as strong as the coverage itself. We focus on real relationships, honest conversations, and making sure our clients always feel supported. Whether it’s home, auto, life, farm coverage, small business protection, or the many unique situations that fall somewhere in between, we’re here to guide our clients every step of the way. Around here, great service isn’t a tagline. It’s simply how we do business.

How do you think about happiness?
I am a happy person in general. I find the positive side of almost any situations. I am also very simple in who and what I am.

I love my job. My clients, my business and the friendships and relationships I’ve developed over the year. It sounds cliche but I take so much joy from what I do.

Outside of work I love spending time with my husband, kids and friends. Being outside recharges me. whether its outside on our small little farm tending flowers, mowing the lawn or playing with the dog. or its on the river with our boat enjoying the sunshine and water.

Travel is a big passion for me. I love to see the world. Tropical beaches to ancient buildings in Europe. Food and wine drives alot of our passion on where we go and what we experience!
