Today we’d like to introduce you to Naily Cervantes.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my journey in high school when I took a cosmetology class, and that’s where I fell in love with making people feel good about themselves. After graduating, I went to beauty school to pursue my dream of becoming a hairstylist. In 2013, I became fully licensed and began working in various salons and spas, gaining experience and learning as much as I could along the way.
One of the biggest moments in my career was landing an apprenticeship with a master stylist. That experience helped me grow tremendously and build confidence in my craft. Eventually, I took the step to lease my own chair, which allowed me to meet so many amazing people and start building my own clientele.
Three years ago, I took a leap of faith and opened my own hair studio in Oregon City. I realized there weren’t any Spanish-speaking salons in the area, and as a Latina, it was important to me to create a space where my Latino clients could feel comfortable speaking Spanish and truly feel at home.
My studio is a welcoming and safe space for everyone—people of all ethnicities, genders, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Anyone who sits in my chair is welcome. My goal has always been to help people feel confident, beautiful, and like the best version of themselves.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing comes easy I struggled so much with people doubting me even my own family saying because I didn’t go to actual college my career wasn’t a career!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

What do you like and dislike about the city?
