Today we’d like to introduce you to Heidi Grant-Starr.
Hi Heidi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was an interior designer for 25+ years, owned my own business, and as life shifted and the years passed, I got more interested in health and wellness. Over time, I have connected the dots and seen the parallels between interior design for people’s homes and their internal “interior “design.
As we age and life shifts, we face new challenges, and it is helpful to assess what’s happening, what we want to change, and who we want to be moving forward. I help people design that path forward.
About 5 years ago, I transitioned from full-time interior design/contractor to Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not always, but I have learned a lot along the way. One struggle has been letting go of old identities and being comfortable with being a beginner again.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a health and life coach.
I am helping people who are navigating midlife challenges and changes find peace and an intentional path forward to design the life they want.
I am proud of my growth mindset and ability to “drop in” and be present in this crazy, fast-paced world.
I am different because I am straightforward. I have honest conversations with people. I do cheer them on, but I also encourage their autonomy and believe in their ability to do things on their own.
I find joy in helping people stretch out of their comfort zones.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
No luck here, all hard but rewarding work. I believe in putting in the time and doing the reps. I don’t believe in luck, but I do believe in opportunities and the importance of being open to them.
