Hi Luminar, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Luminar Skin was created to fill a clear gap in the skincare space: the need for high-quality, clean products that harness the unique benefits of ozonized oil.

Ozone is rapidly gaining attention in mainstream wellness for its powerful therapeutic properties, particularly in addressing inflammation, pain, tissue damage, and microbial imbalances. When ozone gas is carefully infused into high-quality oils, it becomes stabilized, allowing it to be safely and effectively applied to the skin—delivering many of the same benefits recognized in medical settings. The results can be truly remarkable.

What drives us most is the feedback from our customers. We consistently hear about rapid pain relief, muscle relaxation, improved healing of rashes, reduced redness, and healthier, more balanced skin. At Luminar, we’re passionate about creating products that don’t just care for the skin—but actively support healing and relief.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We’ve been fortunate in many ways—especially early on. From the start, we had strong, effective formulations, so our initial focus was on refining our brand voice and creating a clear, cohesive identity to bring Luminar to market.

That said, it hasn’t been entirely smooth. One of our biggest challenges has been education and awareness. Ozonized oil is incredibly powerful, but it’s still relatively unfamiliar to many people. Helping customers understand what it is, how it works, and why it’s different from conventional skincare has required ongoing effort.

Like many growing brands, building visibility and trust has been a journey. Spreading the word, reaching the right audience, and standing out in a crowded skincare space continues to be one of our biggest—and most rewarding—challenges.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Luminar is more than a single founder or perspective—it’s a collaborative effort driven by a team with diverse expertise in naturopathic medicine, art, and business. This combination allows us to approach skincare both scientifically and creatively, ensuring that every product is intentional, effective, and thoughtfully designed.

We specialize in clean, high-quality skincare centered around the power of ozonized oils and purposeful ingredients. Education is at the core of what we do—we’re deeply committed to helping people understand not just what they’re using, but why it works and how it supports their skin and overall wellness.

What we’re most proud of is the impact our products have on our customers’ lives. Hearing stories of relief, healing, and renewed confidence reinforces why we do this work.

What sets us apart is our depth of knowledge and our integrity. We don’t create products for the sake of volume or trends—we formulate with intention, guided by a clear understanding of how ingredients function and what people truly need. Every product reflects a balance of science, purpose, and care.

What we love most about Portland is its deep appreciation for wellness, sustainability, and thoughtful living. People here care about what they put in and on their bodies, and there’s a strong culture of supporting local, purpose-driven brands. That mindset aligns perfectly with Luminar—our focus on clean ingredients, intentional formulation, and education resonates with a community that values both quality and transparency.

We’re also constantly inspired by the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. The forests, water, and fresh air all reinforce the idea that healing and balance come from nature—something that’s deeply reflected in our products.
