Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Palmrose And Echo Arias.
Hi Mary Palmrose and Echo Arias, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Echo started cosmetology school in 2019 and graduated later that year from Stylemasters in Longview, WA. Ironically, she started in this very salon before it was Opulence Salon & Aesthetics. After about 6 months, she moved to another local salon.
Mary started esthetician school in 2022 and graduated later that year from Spectrum Advanced Aesthetics in Tigard, OR. She previously worked as a medical assistant at a medical spa so she started her career as an esthetician there.
In November of 2023, we heard this space was going to be available so we jumped at the opportunity. We received the keys December of 2023 with the goal of opening early January of 2024. The space required a big transformation to make it what is today. Many doubted we would be able to complete the work in time but nearly every spare moment we had was spent working to improve the space. We had lots of family and friends helping us along the way! Our grand opening was originally going to be on January 13th but had to be postponed to January 20th due to the ice storm. The turn out for the grand opening was amazing! We’ve just started our third year and the salon has grown. We have a nail technician, 3 hair stylists including Echo, an esthetician, a reflexologist, and we’ve recently added a massage therapist.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road was mostly smooth. Of course, starting a business has its bumps, especially because neither of us has ever been business owners before. The amount of time and work we put in during the early days was probably the biggest struggle.
Another challenge has been learning the ins and outs of being a business owner but we feel we have settled into it much more since we’ve started our third year in business.

Echo is known for blonding services but also loves styling brides and giving transformative cuts.
Mary specializes in eyelash extensions but also loves working on eyebrows and giving relaxing facials.
At Opulence, we believe everyone deserves a luxury service. We are different because we provide a luxurious experience while creating a relaxing and welcoming environment.
Many clients comment on how chic and beautiful the space is, yet they still feel so comfortable.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Echo – Back before social media was even thought of, I loved playing until dark in the summertime with all my neighborhood friends.
Mary – I had many including what Echo mentioned but another one that stands out is when my family would have family day. We would spend the day together and even open gifts from one another. Family time is one of my favorite things.
