Today we’d like to introduce you to Taunie Stoller.
Hi Taunie , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Little Sprouts Outfitters officially launched in September 2025, but the idea behind it started long before that.
I’ve always loved fashion, curating outfits, and supporting small businesses. At the same time, I grew up surrounded by horses, livestock, and agriculture, and today I still work full-time in the animal health industry. Those farm and ranch roots have always been a huge part of who I am.
When I became a mom, I quickly realized how difficult it was to find children’s clothing that reflected the lifestyle we actually lived. I was searching for quality pieces inspired by the western, ranch, and farm lifestyle—something timeless, comfortable, and durable enough for real life. Instead, I often found limited options, poor-quality materials, or designs that simply didn’t feel like us.
As my son grew, so did the vision for Little Sprouts Outfitters.
What started as a desire to find better clothing for my own child evolved into a carefully curated online boutique focused on quality, comfort, and style for babies, toddlers, and youth. I became passionate about sourcing products from brands that prioritize thoughtful design, high-quality materials like bamboo and cotton, and pieces that can be worn for everyday adventures, special occasions, and even passed down to younger siblings.
Today, Little Sprouts Outfitters ships nationwide from our farm in Oregon. Every collection is still inspired by the life we live—farm days, family traditions, outdoor adventures, and all the little moments in between.
As we approach our first year in business this September, I’m incredibly grateful for the community that has grown around the brand. We’re still in the early chapters of our story, but it’s been amazing to watch an idea born from motherhood and a love for farm life grow into something that connects with families across the country. 🌱🤎
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think any business journey is ever completely smooth—and if it were, everyone would do it.
One advantage I had from the beginning was knowing exactly who I was building this brand for. I understood the niche because I was the customer. As a mom raising my son on a farm, I knew there were other families looking for the same things I was: quality clothing inspired by the western, ranch, and farm lifestyle.
The challenge wasn’t identifying the customer—it was finding them and building that community from zero.
When you launch a new business, nobody knows who you are yet. You don’t have years of brand recognition, thousands of followers, or a large marketing budget. Building trust takes time, consistency, and a lot of patience.
Social media has probably been one of the biggest learning curves. Algorithms are constantly changing, trends evolve overnight, and what worked yesterday may not work tomorrow. It can be easy to get caught up in follower counts, engagement numbers, and comparing your journey to someone else’s. I’ve had to remind myself that building a genuine community is more important than chasing quick growth.
There are also the behind-the-scenes challenges that most people never see. Learning new technology, keeping up with website updates, understanding email marketing, inventory management, photography, and all the other moving pieces that come with running an online business can feel overwhelming at times.
Through it all, I’ve tried to approach each challenge as an opportunity to learn. Every obstacle has taught me something valuable, and every small win feels that much more rewarding because of it.
I’m still learning every day, but that’s part of what makes entrepreneurship so exciting. There will always be new challenges, new technology, and new opportunities to grow. The key is staying positive, staying adaptable, and remembering why you started in the first place.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Little Sprouts Outfitters is a carefully curated children’s boutique inspired by the western, ranch, and farm lifestyle. We offer clothing and accessories for babies, toddlers, and youth that prioritize quality, comfort, and timeless style.
What sets us apart is that we aren’t trying to be everything for everyone. Every product is intentionally selected with a specific customer in mind—families who value durable, comfortable clothing that can keep up with everyday life while still feeling special enough for family photos, church, holidays, and memorable moments.
One of the things I’m most proud of is our collection strategy. Rather than carrying hundreds of products year-round, we focus on limited-batch, thoughtfully curated collections that launch throughout the year. This allows us to keep things fresh, seasonal, and intentional while avoiding the overwhelming shopping experience that can come with larger retailers.
Quality is at the center of every decision I make. I spend countless hours researching brands, materials, and manufacturing practices before bringing products into the shop. Bamboo and high-quality organic cotton fabrics are always at the top of my list because they’re soft, durable, and designed for real life with kids.
I also believe children’s clothing should be versatile. The same outfit should be able to go from a day at the farm to a family gathering, from a playground adventure to a special occasion. Kids should be comfortable enough to play, explore, and simply be kids while still looking put together.
As a newer business, I’m incredibly proud of the community we’ve built in a short amount of time. What started as a small idea has grown into a brand that connects with families across the country who appreciate quality products, thoughtful curation, and a lifestyle rooted in family, hard work, and creating meaningful memories.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that Little Sprouts Outfitters is about more than clothing. It’s about providing families with pieces they’ll reach for again and again, creating memories in those outfits, and passing them down long after the season is over.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I’ve never considered myself a reckless risk-taker, but I do believe in taking calculated risks when I see an opportunity and have done the research to support it.
For me, risk isn’t about making impulsive decisions. It’s about being willing to step outside of your comfort zone, invest in yourself, and trust your instincts while understanding there are no guarantees.
Starting Little Sprouts Outfitters was certainly a risk. I already had a full-time corporate career that I love, a young son at home, family responsibilities, and other business commitments. Choosing to build an entirely new brand from the ground up meant investing time, personal money, and energy into something that had no promise of success.
There were plenty of reasons not to do it.
But I also knew there was a gap in the market. I was actively searching for high-quality children’s clothing inspired by the western, ranch, and farm lifestyle and wasn’t finding what I wanted for my own son. The more I researched, the more confident I became that other families were looking for the same thing.
The biggest risk wasn’t launching the business itself—it was believing I could build a community around an idea that only existed in my head at the time.
Looking back, I’m glad I took that chance. Little Sprouts Outfitters is still young and growing, but every customer, order, and connection reminds me that some of the best opportunities come from believing in an idea enough to take the first step.
