Today we’d like to introduce you to Lainey Morse.
Hi Lainey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Lainey Morse and I’m the Founder of the Original Goat Yoga that started right here in Oregon ten years ago. My idea went viral and changed my life. I quit my corporate job and started licensing our brand out to other goat farms around the USA. My farm and headquarters in Monroe Oregon still offer Goat Yoga Classes and Private Goat Happy Hour Experiences 6 days a week.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Since we were the first Goat Yoga, it was very difficult to find liability insurance and getting approved by the zoning board was next to impossible. Since then, laws have changed which make providing these experiences no longer illegal.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My name is Lainey Morse and I’m the Founder of the Original Goat Yoga. My idea went viral back in 2016, and now we license our brand out to other goat farms all over the USA. We are celebrating our ten year anniversary this year and we’re still sharing the goat magic all over the United States and also at our Headquarters where goat yoga began in the little valley of Bellfountain which in the Southern Willamette Valley and in between Corvallis and Eugene. We are providing experiences that are good for your mental health. Animal therapy comes in many different forms, but ours is calm, loving, peaceful and funny.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is sharing the animal love. We have over 2000 visitors that attend our events at our Headquarters and they come for many different reasons. Some just need to spend quiet time with the animals in nature, some want to learn what it’s like to own goats and run a farm, some are seeking a change of life and the animals give them inspiration. I love seeing the smile on their face as the goats stare into their soul. I can see how surprised visitors are that the goats are so social and loving and they end up forming deep bonds and connecting. Seeing that happen is my absolute favorite thing.
