Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley (Bradfield) & Charlsie (MacWilliams).
Hi Ashley (Bradfield) & Charlsie (MacWilliams), please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The story of Crash & C-Mac Productions began long before the company officially launched in 2024. Founders Charlsie MacWilliams and Ashley Bradfield first started producing independent live music events together at a winery venue in Southern Oregon, where they spent several years building grassroots concerts, developing relationships with artists, and learning firsthand what it takes to create meaningful live music experiences in a rural market.
What started as a shared passion project quickly evolved into something much larger. Through consistent sold-out and community-supported events, they realized there was both a need and an opportunity to elevate the quality and visibility of live music experiences in Southern Oregon. Their ability to identify exceptional talent, build authentic relationships, and create welcoming, community-centered events helped them develop a strong reputation within the regional music scene. In 2024, they officially launched Crash & C-Mac Productions to expand that work beyond a single venue and into full-scale talent buying, promotion, artist support, advocacy, and event production services. Today, Crash & C-Mac Productions has grown into a multifaceted company working across live event production, artist marketing support, venue staffing, festival programming, and music advocacy. The company actively collaborates with organizations like MusicOregon and the National Independent Venue Association while partnering with venues, local governments, and destination marketing organizations to help strengthen Southern Oregon’s music ecosystem.
At its core, the company was built from the ground up by two independent producers who believed rural communities deserved access to high-quality live music and cultural experiences. That grassroots foundation continues to shape everything they do today, from intimate concerts to large-scale festival programming, including their work programming Art Along the Rogue 2026 in Grants Pass.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges we face at Crash & C-Mac Productions is operating within a rural market where the average household income is around $32,000, while simultaneously working in a live entertainment industry that is facing some of its most difficult economic conditions in years. Rising production costs, artist fees, insurance, staffing, and operational expenses continue to climb, while audiences everywhere are becoming more selective about how and when they spend money on live events. Like many independent promoters and venues across the country, we have seen attendance patterns shift and ticket sales soften despite continued community interest in live music.
There are also unique regional challenges that come with building a music business in Southern Oregon. Breaking into the industry in a smaller market can be difficult, especially within environments that have historically operated with an “old boys club” mentality, where access, opportunities, and decision-making networks have not always been inclusive or accessible to newer voices and independent operators. As women-led business owners working to build something community-focused and forward-thinking, we have had to work incredibly hard to earn trust, create opportunities independently, and prove the value of what we bring to the table.
Funding instability has also created major obstacles. Despite receiving some of the highest ranking scores in grant evaluations, we have still experienced the loss of critical grant funding due to limited available resources and broader economic pressures impacting arts and culture funding statewide. For independent music and arts organizations, these funding gaps can significantly impact long-term planning, programming growth, and sustainability.
At the same time, these challenges are also what motivate us. We remain committed to advocating for the importance of live music, supporting artists and venues, and helping build a stronger and more sustainable music ecosystem for Southern Oregon. We believe rural communities deserve access to high-quality arts and cultural experiences, and we are proud to continue doing this work even during a particularly difficult period for the industry.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Our work consistently focuses on creating memorable live experiences while demonstrating the value that music and arts programming bring to communities, businesses, and tourism initiatives.
At our core, we believe live music is more than entertainment — it is a tool for economic development, community building, and cultural identity. Whether partnering with venues, municipalities, festivals, or artists, our goal is to create impactful experiences that resonate long after the music ends.
What are your plans for the future?
At Crash & C-Mac Productions, our focus for the future is centered on continued growth, regional impact, and expanding opportunities for both artists and audiences. We are actively working to grow and diversify our audience base while continuing to elevate Southern Oregon as a recognized music and cultural destination.
We’re looking forward to expanding our partnerships with venues, municipalities, festivals, and tourism organizations to support more local and regional events through talent booking, music programming, and event production services. As demand for high-quality live entertainment continues to grow, we plan to increase the reach and scale of our summer concert series and continue bringing exceptional artists and memorable live experiences to the region.
We are also excited to deepen our involvement in community and music advocacy efforts, helping strengthen the infrastructure that supports independent artists, venues, and cultural programming throughout Oregon. Looking ahead, we see tremendous opportunity to continue building sustainable, community-centered music experiences that contribute to local economies, tourism, and regional identity.
