Community Highlights: Meet JAIKA YBER of Yber Digital

Today we’d like to introduce you to JAIKA YBER.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story is not one of overnight success. It is a story of faith, perseverance, humble beginnings, and trusting God’s plan even when it looked completely different from my own.
Growing up in Dumaguete City, Philippines, I was heavily influenced by my grandfather, who was a physician. Watching his dedication to helping others inspired me from a young age, and I always dreamed of following in his footsteps. I first earned a degree in Information Technology with an award of The Best System Design, but my heart was set on medicine, so I pursued a second degree in Biology with the goal of becoming a doctor.
Then the pandemic happened.
Like many people, my plans came to a standstill. Opportunities became limited, and the path toward medical school in the Philippines felt uncertain. Around that same time, I had the opportunity to migrate to the United States through my father, who is an American citizen. Looking back, I believe God’s timing was perfect, even though I could not see it at the time.
I initially moved to Seattle with hopes of attending the University of Washington and continuing my journey toward medicine. However, life had other plans. Following a falling out with my father, I found myself needing to start over. I moved to Oregon with very little to my name and began working for Serenity Home Care while continuing my education.
Those early years were some of the most challenging of my life. When I arrived in Oregon, everything I owned fit into two WinCo grocery bags. I am incredibly grateful to Serenity Home Care and the people there who believed in me and supported me during that chapter of my life. Before I could afford a place of my own, I slept at one of their adult foster homes. Their generosity gave me stability when I had nowhere else to turn.
While attending Portland State University, I worked full-time to support myself while also sending money home to help my family in the Philippines. I know what it feels like to live paycheck to paycheck. There were times when every dollar was already accounted for before I even received it. There were seasons when I ate meals at my employer’s adult foster home because I simply could not afford groceries of my own. Those experiences humbled me and taught me lessons about gratitude, resilience, and perseverance that no classroom ever could.
When I eventually rented a room, all I had was a pillow and a spot on the carpet to sleep on. Slowly, paycheck by paycheck, I saved enough money to buy a bed, furnish my room, and build a life from the ground up. Every piece of furniture represented progress. Every bill paid represented stability. Every small step forward reminded me that persistence matters.
Despite the challenges, I stayed focused on my goal and graduated in 2023 with a degree in Public Health. My dream of becoming a doctor was still alive. However, reality soon set in. I realized that medical school required a level of financial stability that I simply did not have. I could not work full-time, support myself, and attend medical school at the same time.
That realization led me to prayer.
I asked the Lord Jesus Christ to show me a way. I prayed for a path that would allow me to build financial stability so that one day I could return and pursue the dream I had carried for so long.
What happened next changed my life.
God led me back to my first degree—technology.
I founded Yber Digitals with the simple goal of creating a business that could generate income and eventually support my education. What began as a practical solution quickly became something much bigger. As I worked with business owners, helped companies grow, built websites, developed marketing strategies, and solved problems for clients, I discovered something unexpected: I fell in love with entrepreneurship.
I fell in love with helping people build their dreams.
I fell in love with learning, creating, and seeing the impact our work had on businesses and families.
In our second year, Yber Digitals grew by more than 800%. But more important than the growth was the realization that came with it. For the first time, I felt complete clarity.
This was where God wanted me to be.
This was the purpose He had been preparing me for all along.
The road has not been easy. There are still many struggles and obstacles I am not yet ready to share publicly. But every challenge has strengthened my faith and reinforced my belief that God often uses our detours to lead us exactly where we are meant to go.
Today, my mission extends beyond building a successful company. I want my story to inspire young people, immigrants, aspiring entrepreneurs, and anyone facing difficult circumstances. I want them to know that success is possible, even when your journey looks impossible.
If I can do it, so can you.
All it takes is faith as small as a mustard seed, consistency when no one is watching, determination when things get difficult, and a willingness to keep moving forward one step at a time.
I also believe strongly in giving back. Whether through my church, nonprofit organizations, community service, or mentoring others, I have learned that blessings are meant to be shared. Success is not about how much we accumulate; it is about how many lives we impact along the way.
I believe in receiving and then giving. I believe that generosity creates growth. I believe that when we use our blessings to bless others, God multiplies what we have been given.
Looking back, I realize that my story was never really about becoming a doctor, starting a business, or achieving financial success. It has always been about faith, service, and trusting God’s plan—even when I could not understand it.
And I believe the best chapters are still ahead.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road.
One of the biggest struggles was learning to let go of the future I had planned for myself. For years, I believed I was meant to become a physician. When circumstances forced me to reconsider that path, I had to learn that sometimes God’s plan looks different from our own. That was not easy to accept at first.
Another challenge was building a business without coming from an entrepreneurial background. I didn’t have investors, a roadmap, or a guarantee that things would work out. Every lesson came through experience, trial and error, and a willingness to keep going even when I wasn’t sure of the outcome. There were moments of self-doubt, difficult decisions, and times when the weight of responsibility felt overwhelming.
As the business grew, I also had to grow personally. Leadership is one of the greatest teachers. I had to learn how to manage people, navigate difficult conversations, handle setbacks, and make decisions that affected not only me but also my team and clients. Entrepreneurship has a way of exposing both your strengths and your weaknesses, and I’ve spent the last few years continuously working on both.
Perhaps the greatest challenge has been maintaining faith during seasons when the results weren’t visible. Success stories often focus on milestones and achievements, but they rarely show the months or years spent building behind the scenes. Staying consistent when progress feels slow is something every entrepreneur faces.
Looking back, I wouldn’t change those struggles. They taught me resilience, humility, patience, and trust. More importantly, they taught me that faith goes a long way. I learned what it truly means to walk by faith, to pray boldly, to believe that God has already prepared what is meant for you, while at the same time surrendering your own plans and saying, “Thy will be done.”
My journey has shaped my belief that nothing is impossible when you have the Lord Jesus Christ at the center of your life. It has also taught me not to live in fear of losing what God has given me. When you have experienced God’s faithfulness firsthand, you realize that He does not abandon you. Sometimes He redirects you, and in those moments it may feel like a loss, but often He is leading you toward something greater than what you originally imagined. I can personally attest to that. Some of the things I once thought I had lost turned out to be God’s way of redirecting me toward opportunities and blessings far greater than I could have planned for myself.
Even today, when I feel like I’m losing a client, facing a difficult challenge, or finding myself in a situation that seems hopeless, I remind myself that I have felt this way before. In many of those moments, what looked like a dead end was actually God working behind the scenes. What felt like uncertainty was often preparation for the next chapter.
I’ve learned that growth is rarely comfortable. The seasons that stretch us, challenge us, and test our faith are often the same seasons that prepare us for the next level. Comfort can sometimes keep us where we are, but discomfort is often where growth happens. Because of my experiences, I have learned not to fear those uncomfortable seasons. In fact, when they come, I remind myself that I may be closer to a breakthrough than I realize.
Whenever I experience anxiety, uncertainty, or fear, I try to see it differently. Instead of viewing it as a sign to quit, I view it as an opportunity to learn, adapt, and trust God more deeply. Over time, I’ve learned that those difficult emotions often appear right before an important lesson, a new opportunity, or a season of growth. They remind me that I am being stretched beyond my comfort zone and prepared for something greater.
I can honestly say that every door that closed in my life eventually led me to a better one. What once felt like setbacks became stepping stones. Looking back now, I can see that God was working through every challenge, every detour, and every unanswered prayer to guide me exactly where I needed to be. For that reason, I no longer measure success by the absence of struggles. I measure it by the faith to keep moving forward, trusting that God is already preparing the next step, even when I cannot yet see it.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the Founder and CEO of Yber Digitals, a full-service digital marketing and business solutions agency based in Oregon. We specialize in website design and development, System application Design and Development, search engine optimization (SEO), digital marketing, social media management, content creation and production, branding, and virtual assistance. Our mission is simple: to help businesses grow, scale, and establish a strong digital presence so they can focus on what they do best.
What makes my journey unique is that I did not set out to become an entrepreneur. My original goal was to become a physician. Yber Digitals was initially created as a way to generate income so I could continue pursuing medical school. However, through working with business owners from different industries, I discovered a passion for helping entrepreneurs achieve their goals. I realized that while doctors heal people physically, I was helping businesses survive, grow, and create opportunities for their families, employees, and communities.
Today, I work with startups, small businesses, nonprofits, healthcare providers, home care agencies, construction companies, and established organizations looking to strengthen their online presence and generate measurable growth. My specialty is not just building websites or running marketing campaigns—it’s understanding the bigger picture of a business and creating strategies that support long-term success.
What I am most proud of is not a specific revenue milestone or business achievement. I am most proud of building Yber Digitals from the ground up with no investors, no business background, and no roadmap. I started with a vision, faith, and a willingness to learn. To see the company grow by more than 800% in its second year while helping clients grow their own businesses has been incredibly rewarding.
I am also proud that Yber Digitals creates opportunities for others. As the company has grown, we have been able to provide work, support entrepreneurs, and help organizations make a greater impact in their communities. For me, success has never been about numbers alone—it has always been about people.
I believe what sets me apart is my combination of technical expertise, business strategy, and genuine care for the people I serve. Because I have experienced financial hardship, career uncertainty, and the challenges of starting over, I understand what many business owners are going through. I don’t see clients as transactions; I see them as partners whose success is directly connected to ours.
My background in Information Technology gives me the technical foundation to build and optimize digital solutions, while my education in Biology and Public Health taught me how to think critically, solve complex problems, and approach challenges with discipline and empathy. Combined with my entrepreneurial experience, these perspectives allow me to bring both strategy and heart to every project.
Beyond business growth, I am known for building relationships and serving my community. Whether through mentorship, nonprofit involvement, church service, or community leadership, I believe success carries a responsibility to help others rise as well. One of the principles I live by is that blessings are meant to be shared.
At the end of the day, I don’t measure success solely by revenue, awards, or recognition. I measure it by impact—the businesses we’ve helped grow, the jobs we’ve helped create, the people we’ve been able to serve, and the opportunities we’ve helped make possible. That is what motivates me every day, and it is what I am most proud of.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
If I had to narrow it down, the quality most central to my success is a blend of perseverance, resilience, faith, and a deep commitment to serving others with excellence.

There have been many moments in my life when it would have been easier to quit, change direction, or settle for less than what I believed was possible. From starting over in a new country, working full-time while attending college, supporting family back home, and building a business from scratch, I learned that success rarely comes from having the perfect plan. More often, it comes from continuing to move forward when the outcome is uncertain.

My faith has been the foundation of that perseverance. It has taught me to keep going when I cannot see the full picture, to trust during difficult seasons, and to view setbacks as redirections rather than failures. I believe that faith gives you the courage to take the next step even when you do not know where the path will lead.

At the same time, what truly drives me is my commitment to providing exceptional value to every person I serve. Whether a client is a large corporation, a growing nonprofit, or a startup operating on a tight budget, they receive the same level of dedication, consistency, and quality from me and my team. I have never believed that excellence should be reserved only for the highest-paying clients. Integrity in your work should not have a sliding scale.

In the digital marketing industry, things change constantly. Strategies evolve, algorithms shift, platforms change, and what worked yesterday may not work tomorrow. Resilience is what allows me to adapt, continue learning, and keep moving forward through uncertainty. But providing value is what gives that resilience purpose. I believe that if you genuinely focus on helping people succeed, the business growth will follow.

I have also learned that consistency often matters more than talent. Many people are capable of great things, but not everyone is willing to show up day after day, especially when progress feels slow or invisible. Some of the biggest breakthroughs in my life and career came after long periods of persistence when there was little immediate reward.

Because of my experiences, I no longer view challenges as obstacles. I view them as opportunities to grow. When things become uncomfortable, uncertain, or difficult, I remind myself that growth often happens in those moments. Some of the greatest blessings in my life came disguised as setbacks, and that perspective has helped me remain resilient through both personal and professional challenges.

Ultimately, I believe success comes from having faith, staying consistent, serving others well, and refusing to give up on the purpose God has placed in your heart. Showing up consistently and delivering value to everyone you encounter builds something far more valuable than revenue—it builds trust. And in business, trust is everything.
