Exploring Life & Business with Sean Rooney of Green Duck Technologies

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Rooney.

Hi Sean, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Sean, your local website guy! I own and operate Green Duck Technologies where I make affordable websites for small businesses, and help them set up and manage various services that revolve around websites including but not limited to email, IT support, and search engine optimization.

I started my career in IT working as tech support for a web hosting company, then went to a coding bootcamp and was later hired as in-office IT for a small solar company.

Later, I decided to move to Portland, and started my own freelance business using the experience and skills that I have learned from my coding program and last 2 jobs. Since then, I have picked up a variety of clients, both local and abroad.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In my line of work, because of the current state of technology, things are always changing. On top of that, everyone has their own setup that works for them, so you have to be good at learning new things and staying ahead of the curve as much as possible.

After many years of experience in this field, I have learned how to roll with these changes and complexities in order to help others achieve their business goals.

As you know, we’re big fans of Green Duck Technologies. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I can work with most websites – WordPress, Wix, SquareSpace, HubSpot, Shopify, Custom Code, etc.

Tech support for email, Search Engine Optimization(SEO), Google Business setup, domains/DNS support, web hosting support, online marketing, social media setup, AI code cleanup, and general IT consultations.
