Today we’d like to introduce you to Brogan Woodburn.
Hi Brogan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been drawn to both creativity and systems. When I was younger, I taught myself music, but I was also the kind of person who liked taking apart old computers just to understand how they worked.
Music was my first serious path. I studied at Berklee College of Music on a full-tuition scholarship and spent years developing as a guitarist across a wide range of styles. Later, I toured nationally with *Bring It On: The Musical*, which gave me a strong foundation in discipline, preparation, and consistency. Touring taught me how to perform at a high level on a demanding schedule, how to stay reliable under pressure, and how to work closely with a team where everybody depends on each other doing their part well.
After re-settling in the Northwest I gravitated toward digital work, writing, and online systems. Over time, that interest turned into professional work in digital marketing and SEO. What pulled me into SEO was that it sits right at the intersection of creativity and structure. There is the writing side of it, of course, but there is also the underlying architecture: search intent, entities, structure, schema, citations, and all the signals that help search engines understand a business clearly.
Over the past several years, I’ve worked across content writing, freelance digital marketing, local SEO, technical SEO, and website content strategy. I’ve helped clients with things like website migrations, local search visibility, business listings, service-page strategy, and adapting their workflows as AI tools started changing how content and operations work.
Today, my work is centered on search strategy, especially for local and regional businesses. In a lot of ways, it still comes back to the same two interests I had early on: creativity and systems thinking. I also enjoy being close to family in Central Oregon, and I perform guitar regularly in the area.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No road is smooth, but I coexist with the bumps. Growing into digital marketing and client work alongside music was a challenge in itself. That meant building a new skill set, finding steady work, and proving myself in a different field. But I was there for it (like by reading the whole Chicago Manual of Style while working retail years ago).
Building a business also taught me a lot. You’re responsible for the actual work, but also communication, organization, and keeping things moving. A lot of the path has been about patience and continuing to build something solid over time.
We’ve been impressed with Work With Brogan, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Work With Brogan is my SEO and web consulting business based in Central Oregon. I help businesses improve how they show up online through local SEO, Google Business Profile management, SEO web content, citation cleanup, search strategy, and related consulting. A big part of my work is helping businesses become easier for Google to understand and easier for the right customers to find.
What sets my work apart is that I combine the writing side and the systems side. I’m not just looking at keywords or just writing pages. I’m looking at the full picture: search intent, site structure, internal links, business listings, entity signals, content quality, and how those pieces work together. I also keep the process very direct and practical. I work in plain language, I don’t overcomplicate things, and I focus on what will actually help a business get found and generate leads.
Overall, Work With Brogan is built around clarity, strong execution, and long-term usefulness. Whether I’m helping with local visibility, website content, or broader search strategy, the goal is to build something solid that helps the business grow.
What are your plans for the future?
Overall, I want to keep growing the SEO and search side of the business and keep building useful systems for clients. With AI search being a thing, I’m making sure my clients are showing up there and staying on top of the different models and ways people can apply it.
