Today we’d like to introduce you to Katrina McGiffin.
Hi Katrina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I never set out to be an energy healer, but there are some callings in life that relentlessly call you forward, no matter how many times you try to reroute or take a path that makes sense. I spent my childhood steeped in the deep woods of Southern Oregon, a place of real beauty that was also marked by moments of trauma. I didn’t know it then, but the healing of those wounds would later become part of my own initiation into guiding others.
For a long time I did what looked reasonable. I loved yoga, so I became a teacher. My passion for food and health made a master’s in nutrition feel like the responsible next step. But life had other plans for how deep this would go. As I moved into being a wife and a mother, those rites of passage pulled me into deeper parts of myself and invited more than one dark night of the soul. I couldn’t outrun my own healing, so I finally leaned in.
That personal journey changed everything, including how I saw the people I was working with. I began to sense that the back pain or the blood sugar or the struggle with food was never really the whole story. There was always something underneath, in the body and the energy field, quietly asking to be heard. The more I healed in myself, the more clearly I could see it in everyone else.
The medicine we need is found in the truth of our own body. That’s the truth I lived my way into, and it’s the one I’ve built my whole life’s work around helping others find.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not always been a smooth road, but I’ve come to recognize that it is the moments of struggle that ignite growth and evolution. My deepest, most personal struggles have invited me to know myself in a remarkable way. They have also awakened gifts I would not otherwise have access to, gifts I now use daily in my work with others.
In terms of the work I do, the main struggle has been letting go of expectations, my own and other people’s, about how something should look or what it should be, enough to let something new be born. It took many years of self-doubt and deep questioning to not simply follow a path that had already been laid, and instead to keep weaving the many threads of myself together.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The heart of my business is simple: when your energy flows, everything follows.
I help women restore the natural flow of energy through their body, so they feel clearer, lighter, and more like themselves again. So much of what feels like a hundred separate problems, the fatigue, the fog, the tension, the sense that life is harder than it should be, is really one thing. It’s energy that has stalled where you stopped listening. Most approaches have you trying to repair what actually needs to be nourished. I work the other way around.
I’m an integrative nutritionist, hypnotherapist, and energy medicine practitioner, trained at Bastyr University, the Wellness Institute, and under Cyndi Dale and Anodea Judith. What sets me apart is that I bring the science and the subtle together in one place, meeting the physical body and the energetic body at the same time so the shifts actually last.
What I’m most proud of is the healing I’ve witnessed through the Nourish Method, my signature process for restoring nourishment on every level. Whether it’s in the intimacy of a private one-on-one journey or on retreat surrounded by a whole circle of women, I’ve watched people redefine long-held beliefs, come home to their bodies, heal their relationship with food, set boundaries they never could before, and step into a more vibrant, empowered version of themselves. Getting to hold that kind of transformation, again and again, is the greatest honor of this work.
What I most want your readers to know is that health and well-being are already inherent in each of us. The medicine we need is found in the truth of our own body. We need only to unlock the flow of it through us.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I am so fortunate to have a family of cheerleaders. My parents have always been very supportive of my visions without ever trying to curate them according to their own sensibilities. Additionally, my sister (and very best friend) has been a constant advocate for the work I do, as well as muse for many of my creations.
Also, they say the right teacher will present themselves when you are ready and I have found that to be true time and time again. Sometimes that teacher is an actual teacher (hello to the many certifications I have under my belt!), and sometimes the teacher is in the form of a healer, a wise friend, a business coach, an animal or a tree at the top of the mountain.
I feel the co-creative energy of the universe all the time and am always open to the mysterious ways in which it shows up to guide the way.
