Meet Zachary Hillegas of Mountain Home Construction LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zachary Hillegas.

Hi Zachary, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Nearly five years ago, after years of working for other people, I hit a turning point. I had the skills, the truck, and my own set of tools, but I was tired of having no control over my time or how projects were managed. So, I took out a small startup loan to cover the official necessities—licensing, bonding, and insurance—and went out on my own. Building this business was about taking control of my own life and bringing a higher level of personal pride and direct communication to every job.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building a business from the ground up isn’t a smooth road. Early on, I had zero marketing budget and no marketing background—I just had to rely on good work to get the word out. Then came a brutal $35,000 hit due to a terrible accountant, which forced me to dig deep and learn the business side of things fast. Throw in a tough economy where everyone is holding onto their money, and it’s been a continuous test of grit. But pushing through those setbacks taught me how to operate efficiently and keep going no matter what.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Mountain Home Construction LLC ?

What makes me happy in business is a project that goes on time and on budget. Watching the customers reactions when they see the final product and knowing it was done well and will last.

In personal life its watching the growth of my children, enjoying my wifes company and the outdoors love the time I/We get out in nature wether its the beach, mountain, desert etc
