Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Strasshofer.
Hi Steven, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well I grew up with two deaf parents. Two sisters three brothers in a small town on reservation in northern Minnesota my moms enrolled my fathers German and Norwegian.. I play piano enjoy hiking nature exploring gathering mushrooms rocks ect.. I been playing piano for a long time my great grandfather John ledoux was a violinist and maybe it’s in the blood lol sisters sing… I started the company due to keeping up with needs of bosses and miscommunication. struggling to communicate and just wanted to start up my own thing so my ex wife she did all the figuring it out and taught me how to formulate invoices and I then learned from online sources and videos to learn about customer relations and marketin. Then it’s really just communication and labor. Advertisement and really just being a good communicator.. ppl all have different personalities and stories within their properties and some good some bad.. here to be helpful and also listen.alot of ppl just want some one to talk to sometimes and I don’t mind listening while pulling weeds or doing work.. life is a journey I think the start is just finding what your heart enjoys and market it the best you can this earth is not easy… sign language is my first language.. piano is my secret language. What got me where I am is just be a service and be a muscle for ppl and get the work done.. from clean ups to demo old fences and garden things.. to curb appeal and bringing life back into lawns and gardens..
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all I gas fluctuations, fire season, tools break, some clients with mental crises, animals, messes so much whatever you can think of lol .. big rock you didn’t see and boom equipment broke.. advertising in wrong time of year .. learning to not get upset at myself and keep moving forward.. life with its mountains and valleys just don’t give up..
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do maintenance just mow edge blow and clean ups for tax liens and residential for selling or just for looking presentable for the summer.. mulch trim mow shape bushes debris and demo removal from old sheds or fences or garbage clean ups from meth homeless and such.. I also provide sign language for deaf and play piano for special events and in nature .. I’m proud of bringing life back into sad ppl life where their lawns were over grown for years and I come fix it and I see them smile..I also enjoy nature and critters.i save everything I come across but it’s very rare.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My legs didn’t hurt as bad lol jk I’d say hugging my mom she was always there when I fell apart the best she could as a deaf woman.
