Hi Stephanie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Creating, and exploring visions through illustrating gowns and silhouettes has always been rooted in stephanie’s passion. stephanie always knew that her creative output and growing artistic talent would lead her down a path toward fashion. stephanie continued to pursue her childhood goals by attending the art institute of college, earning her ba degree in apparel design. with a specialization in bridal and evening wear through learning the advanced couture techniques, this led to the establishment of her couture house in 2008.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a small business owner, securing adequate funding is often one of the most significant challenges during the early stages of building and growing a business.

stephanie mai is a nw portland based bridal brand that embodies a romantic, fresh, sophisticated aesthetic designed with an admiration for the spirited confidence of today’s modern bride.
stephanie’s style of design is known for being bold, sexy, with modern fits that incorporate soft delicate lace & feminine details. these sophisticated styles are designed to fit with perfection, with an emphasis on lightness, and comfortability. designs that beautifully mirrors the bride’s unique personal style.
aside from designing all the collections, stephanie oversees the entire production processes in her atelier. each design is handcrafted using couture dressmaking techniques, with the utmost attention to detail, proper flattering fits, and timeless silhouettes.
