Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny West.
Danny, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
A couple of years ago, I started creating golf content with a simple goal: get my handicap down to single digits by my 50th birthday in April 2027. I’m currently an 11 handicap, so there’s still work to do, but that’s part of the fun.
Along the way, this journey has become about much more than just improving my game. It’s about sharing the good rounds, the bad shots, the laughs, and everything in between while connecting with other people who share the same passion for golf. My goal is to build a community around the game we all love and enjoy the journey together.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey hasn’t always been smooth. I’ve dealt with setbacks along the way, including a severe sciatic flare that forced me to step away from golf and spend six weeks in physical therapy. It was frustrating to put my progress on hold, but it also reminded me that improvement isn’t always a straight line. I’ve learned to appreciate the small wins, stay patient, and keep moving forward.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What sets me apart is that I’m not just focused on my own golf journey, I’m passionate about bringing others along for the ride. I mix practice drills and on-course footage with an authentic, relatable approach to the game. I also make a point to hype up smaller golf brands and support fellow content creators, helping shine a light on people and companies that deserve more recognition. My goal is to build a positive, engaging golf community where everyone has a chance to grow.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I spent a lot of time skateboarding, which taught me the importance of creativity, individuality, and most importantly, community. Skateboarding was never just about the tricks—it was about learning from each other, encouraging one another, and having fun together. I think that experience is a big reason why community has become such an important part of my golf journey. I want golf to feel just as welcoming, supportive, and fun.
