Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherita Coleman.
Sherita, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey has always been rooted in being a hustler and a busy bee. For years, I worked in operations, administration and leadership, eventually stepping into entrepreneurship as a strategic operations and business partner within the cannabis industry. I was always moving, building, solving problems and figuring out what was next.
After some difficult seasons, I realized I wanted to create something that felt a little calmer and more intentional, which led me to creating Hustle Wrapped in Healing and developing my own herbal tea blends. I loved the idea of creating something that encouraged people to slow down, rest and take care of themselves without feeling like they had to stop being ambitious.
Shortly after starting the tea business, life gave me a very real reminder of why that message mattered. I experienced a major health scare that ultimately led to needing a pacemaker. That experience completely changed the meaning behind Hustle Wrapped in Healing for me. It became less about simply creating tea and more about creating something rooted in the balance between ambition, rest and healing.
Today, I’m continuing to grow the brand, develop new blends and build something that feels authentic to where I am in life. I’m incredibly grateful that the website is still taking orders and that I get to keep creating. I’m still a hustler, I just understand now that rest and healing have to be part of the hustle, too.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve had to navigate career changes, financial uncertainty, difficult seasons personally and professionally and the challenge of figuring out what comes next when the path I thought I was on no longer felt right.
One of my biggest struggles has honestly been learning that I can’t always hustle my way through everything. I’m naturally someone who wants to keep moving, solving problems and figuring things out, so being forced to slow down and prioritize my own well-being was a huge adjustment.
Building a business while navigating unexpected life and health challenges has taught me a lot about resilience and, probably most importantly, about giving myself permission to evolve. I’ve had to learn that changing direction isn’t failure. Sometimes it’s simply life showing you that there’s another way forward.
The road hasn’t been smooth, but every difficult season has given me a deeper understanding of what I’m building and why it matters.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My professional background is rooted in operations, administration, customer service and leadership, with more than 20 years of experience helping businesses run more efficiently and effectively. Over the years, I’ve worked across a variety of industries and eventually found my way into the cannabis industry, where I spent several years managing retail operations, developing processes, training teams and helping businesses solve operational challenges.
Today, I’m an entrepreneur and the founder of Face4wrd Tailored Services, where I use that experience to help businesses with operations, training, process improvement and customer experience. I’m also the founder of Hustle Wrapped in Healing, which allows me to bring a completely different side of myself into my work through herbal tea and wellness-inspired products.
What I’m most proud of is the ability to take my experience and turn it into something useful for other people. I’m a problem solver at heart. I’m usually the person who can walk into a situation, see what isn’t working and figure out how to make it better.
What sets me apart is that I bring both strategy and lived experience to what I do. I understand the behind-the-scenes work it takes to keep a business moving, but I also understand the importance of people, relationships and creating an experience that makes customers and teams want to come back. I’ve never been interested in simply doing things the way they’ve always been done. I like finding a better way.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’ve taken some pretty significant risks throughout my career, but I’ve learned to see risk as an opportunity to grow rather than something to automatically fear. For me, the biggest risks have usually been calculated ones, where I knew I had the experience and ability to figure things out even if I didn’t know exactly what the outcome would be.
One of my first major career risks was leaving a well-paying project coordinator position after spending several years building a career in that space. I had also spent many years in hospitality before that, so I was already comfortable working with people, solving problems and managing the moving parts behind the scenes. Still, a lot of people thought I was crazy for leaving a stable career to enter the cannabis industry and essentially start over.
That decision ended up being one of the most important moves I ever made. Over the next several years, I worked my way through the cannabis industry, eventually moving into management and operations and working closely with founders and business owners. I got to see firsthand what it really takes to build something from the ground up, especially in an industry with so much regulation, uncertainty and red tape. I also participated in a business cohort that helped me better understand entrepreneurship and what it takes to build a business of your own.
All of those experiences gave me the confidence to eventually take another major risk and step into entrepreneurship myself. I had seen enough to understand that building something of your own requires you to take risks, but it also taught me that those risks don’t have to be reckless. They can be intentional, informed and rooted in your own experience.
I think that’s how I approach risk today. I’m willing to bet on myself. I don’t need to know exactly how everything is going to work out before I take the first step. Sometimes you have to trust what you’ve learned, take the leap and figure out the rest along the way.
