Hi Auden, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was led to acupuncture through my passion of anatomy, physiology, sport, and qigong. I enrolled in a Qi Gong elective course in my undergraduate program, which led me to pivot from striving to be a physical therapist to Chinese medicine. I earned my doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from NUNM in Portland and then a certificate of Sports Acupuncture Medicine. I also have training in women’s health, GI disorders, and mental health support.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Earning my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and my doctoral degree while working multiple part time jobs was exceptionally difficult. My mental and physical health suffered, often only sleeping 3-5hrs/night. Would not recommend.
I also have been in a relationship w my partner throughout undergraduate and graduate school, many years of long distance was extremely difficult. We now live happily together in Portland.
Every day is a challenge, but everyday is also worth more than a million dollars. Wake up, smile, and enjoy every moment.
We’ve been impressed with Vitalize Beauty and Wellness, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a partner at Vitalize Beauty and Wellness. I run the ‘Wellness’ side of the clinic and am our executive acupuncturist. I manage 2 other acupuncturists who specialize in women’s health/fertility, and general wellness/health/pain.
