Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathleen Krohn.
Hi Kathleen, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My first career is as a massage therapist, which I began at age 25. By age 37 I was well aware that physical healing would not help some people due to the emotional hurt that had occurred at some point. I was aware of the inner healing concept, also known as Heart Healing, and had attended a few conferences on the subject due to my second career as a Drug/Alcohol Councilor. As a believer in Jesus Christ, I began taking classes with trusted spiritual venues over a 20 year period and worked with teams, trained up a team and eventually went out on my own to create a business. Engaging in the process myself along the way, taught me the power of the elements used, to create freedom by releasing self and others from behavoir or verbage they are not able to reconcile. I have lived my best life since doing the work and want to share with others what has helped me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some of the struggles were I had to obtain freedom first in my own life. Then finding a stream to get referrals presented a challenge. Once I found a referral flow there was abundant work. But as life changes came and ways society now conducts marketing I was forced to create a website and try to reach a broader audience. This has been difficult as I am tech challenged due to being older and not in the younger generation where technology is part of daily life. It is still not part of my lifestyle to be wrapped up in Face Book, Instagram, X, or any of the older models once used on the internet. I am old school I guess and rely on word of mouth for marketing and other healing avenues I am involved in, such as The International Healing Rooms.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
After retiring from being a self- employed massage therapist for 35 years, I fell back on my second career as a drug/alcohol councilor and went to work for a mental health company. After 13 years at this company I retired and am now using my career talents to create streams of revenue.
I guess what mostly sets me apart from others is that I can make appointments that are convenient for my clients as I don’t have a set schedule any more. My work is not talk therapy, it is creating a connection to hear and learn to be guided by Holy Spirit, Jesus, God. My work is teaching others to be comfortable with prayer, that they have been created for a purpose, and to live in their true identity. I am most proud of the fact that I have held on to my freedom, to know who I am and to function in my God given gifts and talents.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I don’t live in your city. What I like best about my city is that it is in the mountains, small town feel, no traffic, no lines to wait in and location is close to many destinations. I love the outdoors! What I like least about my city is the pettiness that small towns seem to produce, the complaining, and the entitlements to keep things the way they have always been.
