Exploring Life & Business with Tyson Dixon of rogue built construction llc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyson Dixon.

Hi Tyson, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I wanted to take a moment to introduce the team behind Rogue Built Construction. I’m a husband, and father to two little boys, Jalen and Tatum and together as a family we’ve built Rogue Built Construction.

I was born and raised here in Southern Oregon and spent my childhood in the construction industry. Knowing that I wanted to work in the trades, I started off in the electrical field but slowly transitioned back to what was familiar to me. I bought my first business in 2025, commercial fleet wash which grew my interest into expanding into other areas. My mother in-law is who originally inspired me to get licensed to help on a few of her rentals but it quickly turned into what is now our family business.

One thing that has remained consistent throughout the growth of the business is our commitment to doing things the right way. Whether we’re replacing a roof, removing moss, remodeling a room, washing a fleet, or completing a smaller handyman project, we focus on quality workmanship, clear communication, and leaving our customers with a finished product they can be proud of.

I’m especially proud of the relationships Rogue Built has built with homeowners, businesses, property managers, and other professionals throughout the Rogue Valley. A large part of our growth has come from repeat customers and referrals, which is something I never take for granted.

For me, Rogue Built Construction is about more than just construction. It’s about building a business that my family can be proud of, creating lasting relationships in the community, and continuing to grow while maintaining the personal service that got us here in the first place.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The Challenges of Building a Business on My Own

Building Rogue Built Construction has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done, but it hasn’t been easy. Behind every completed project, happy customer, and new opportunity are countless hours of work that most people never see.

When you’re building a business on your own, you quickly realize that you’re responsible for everything. It’s not just showing up to the job and doing the work. It’s answering phone calls, responding to messages, writing estimates, ordering materials, scheduling jobs, managing finances, marketing the business, keeping up with licensing and insurance, and making sure every customer has a great experience.

There have been plenty of long days where I’ve gone from working on a project to sitting down late at night to catch up on paperwork or plan the next day. There are also times when you have to make difficult decisions without a large team around you to help make them.

We’ve been impressed with rogue built construction llc, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

What were you like growing up?
I grew up in Southern Oregon around construction and hands-on work, so being around job sites and learning how things were built was a normal part of my childhood.

Outside of that, I was a pretty typical Southern Oregon kid. I played basketball and football, spent a lot of time outdoors, and made plenty of memories at the dunes. Sports taught me the importance of discipline, teamwork, competition, and showing up even when things get difficult.
