Meet Kelly Lowe of Oregon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Lowe.

Hi Kelly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My first coaching experience was as a teen. I coached gymnastics in Salem. That was in 1992. I moved on to study Construction Engineering Management. I graduated that program in 1998. While I enjoyed the work I always missed coaching and physical fitness. My fitness career started in 2008. I became a personal trainer and started teaching classes as well. By 2016 I was teaching 25 classes a week. These classes were from baby through Senior fitness. I also, worked at the local elementary schools teaching my own afterschool fitness formats. Most of my work with children died out due to covid. Luckily, Kidstrong Lake Oswego found me in 09/2022 and I have been here ever since. Our program focuses on character, physical and cognitive development. The impact on young lives is the most rewarding part. I have served as Coach, General Manager and Head Coach. While I like the management aspect, I prefer to be in the actions.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Fitness is a finicky business. Covid really did a number on us. I truly believe everything happens for a reason and Kidstrong is where I belong.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in building people up. I love creating a supportive community. I am absolutely full of energy. People know who Coach Kelly is. My ability to step away from ego and just have fun with all of my clients sets me apart. I also work hard to include the young, and the elderly, the neurotypical and neurodivergent. If you asked my clients about me, I would venture to say their response would reflect the way I make people feel important, loved and seen. In addition to Kidstrong, I still have a few private clients. I also coach classes at 24 hour fitness.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is that I put a smile on people’s faces! I want everyone I work with to feel seen, supported and successful!
