Meet Christine of Wildflower Postpartum Care llc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Wildflower Postpartum Care really grew out of my own experiences with motherhood, and seeing the demands of mothers freshly postpartum.

After having my children, I experienced firsthand how beautiful, overwhelming, isolating, and physically demanding the postpartum period can be. I also realized how much support new mothers are expected to figure out on their own, often at a time when they are exhausted, healing, and completely focused on caring for a new baby.

I’ve always been drawn to caring for people, particularly during difficult or transitional seasons of their lives. Before Wildflower Postpartum Care, I had a background in counselling adolescent mental health and addiction services, and I’ve always had an interest in natural wellness, herbalism, and supporting the whole person rather than just one piece of their experience.

Becoming a mother changed the way I looked at postpartum care. I experienced both caesarean and a vaginal birth, breastfed and combination-fed, and learned that there isn’t one “right” way to recover or care for a baby. What mothers often need most is someone beside them who can say, “You’re not failing. This is hard. Let’s figure out what you need.”

That became the foundation for Wildflower Postpartum Care. I completed my postpartum doula education through DONA International, along with CPR/AED and First Aid training, and continued building my knowledge around infant feeding, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and maternal wellness.

I wanted Wildflower Postpartum Care to be more than a service where someone comes into your home, holds the baby, and leaves. My goal is to support the entire household during that transition, whether that means preparing a nourishing meal, helping with the baby while a mother showers, offering evidence-based resources, helping a family find their rhythm, getting other siblings involved, or simply being a calm and reassuring presence.

I also wanted accessibility to be part of the business from the beginning. Wildflower Postpartum Care offers discounts and flexible options for families who may face additional barriers to postpartum support, including single mothers, military and railroad families, first responders, teen parents, and survivors of domestic violence.

I’m still very much in the process of growing Wildflower Postpartum Care, but that’s part of what makes it meaningful to me. It started with recognizing a need in my own life and has grown into something I hope can help other families feel a little less alone during one of the biggest transitions they’ll ever experience.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not. Starting Wildflower has been a learning process.
One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to build a business while also being a mother and managing everything that comes with family life. There are days when I have a hundred ideas for Wildflower and the time or energy for maybe three of them. Learning to be patient with myself has been just as important as learning the business side.

Another challenge has been figuring out how to turn something that feels deeply personal into a sustainable business. I care a lot about making postpartum support accessible, especially for mothers who may not have a strong support system or who have experienced trauma. At the same time, I’ve had to learn that my time, education, experience, and labor have value. Finding that balance between wanting to help everyone and building a business that can actually support me has been a big lesson.

There has also been a lot of behind the scenes work that people don’t necessarily see training, certifications, developing services and pricing, building a brand, networking, learning how to market myself, and figuring out what Wildflower Postpartum Care should ultimately become.

Wildflower Postpartum Care is still in its early stages, so I don’t have a story about having everything figured out. I’m building it and learning as I go.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Wildflower Postpartum Care is a postpartum doula service based in Wyoming, serving families throughout Wyoming, Nebraska and Colorado, with additional travel availability in Southern California and the Kansas City Area. At its heart, Wildflower Postpartum Care is about helping mothers feel cared and seen for while they are caring for everyone else.

I provide practical, emotional, and nonjudgmental support during the postpartum period. That can look different for every family. I may help with newborn care, allow a parent to get some uninterrupted sleep or take a shower, prepare meals, help with light household tasks, provide infant feeding support and resources, or simply sit with a mother and remind her that she doesn’t have to do everything alone.

I also offer postpartum meal prep support because nutrition is such an overlooked part of recovery. A mother who has just given birth shouldn’t have to choose between feeding herself and taking care of her baby.

One thing that sets Wildflower Postpartum Care apart is that I don’t believe postpartum care should come in a one-size-fits-all package. Every mother, baby, birth, household, and recovery is different. I want families to be able to receive the kind of support they actually need rather than paying for a predetermined checklist of services. I really let each client personalize their care, whether it’s education, meal prep, housework, sibling support, holistic support for healing, mental health check ins, baby wearing, lactation support, or just someone to listen without judgement.

Accessibility is also a major part of my mission. I offer discounts and flexible options for single mothers, military families, railroad families, first responders, teen parents, and survivors of domestic violence. I also want to create opportunities for mothers who may not otherwise be able to afford traditional postpartum support.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Wildflower Postpartum Care feels like an extension of that belief. I don’t want it to feel clinical, judgmental, or like another place where mothers are given a list of things they are doing wrong. I want it to feel safe, and human.

Ultimately, I want people to know that Wildflower Postpartum Care isn’t about creating a “perfect” postpartum experience. It’s about making a difficult, beautiful, vulnerable season a little more supported and reminding mothers that they deserve care, too.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My family and friends.
