Meet Katelynn Walters of Dani & Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katelynn Walters.

Hi Katelynn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey into wedding and event planning really started with a love for bringing people together, creating beautiful spaces, and being the person behind the scenes making sure all the little details come together.

Over time, I realized how much I genuinely loved the planning and coordination side of events, not just the beautiful end result, but everything that happens behind the scenes to get there. I love taking all of the moving pieces, organizing them, solving problems, and creating an experience where my clients can actually be present and enjoy the moments they’ve spent so much time looking forward to.

That passion eventually led me to take the leap and start Dani & Co. Wedding and Event Planning here in Southern Oregon.

Building Dani & Co. has definitely been a journey. I’ve spent a lot of time learning, growing, building relationships with other wedding professionals, refining my services, and figuring out exactly what I want this company to represent. I wanted to create a planning experience that feels professional and organized, but also incredibly personal. Weddings are such an intimate and meaningful part of someone’s life, and I never want my couples to feel like they are simply another event on my calendar.

Today, Dani & Co. offers everything from wedding management and coordination to partial and full-service planning. I work with couples throughout Southern Oregon and beyond, helping them navigate everything from vendor communication and timelines to design, logistics, and all of those final details that bring a wedding together.

One of the most rewarding parts of building this business has been watching it grow through relationships and trust. Every wedding teaches me something, every couple brings a completely different vision, and I love that no two events are ever exactly the same.

I’m still very much building and growing Dani & Co., and I think that’s one of the most exciting parts of my story. I have big goals for where I want the company to go, but at the heart of it, my purpose is pretty simple: I want my clients to feel supported, cared for, and confident that someone is looking out for them throughout the entire process.

My goal has always been to create celebrations that feel effortlessly elegant, but most importantly, unforgettably you.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but I think that’s part of building something from the ground up.

One of the biggest challenges has been establishing myself and building brand recognition in an industry that is so heavily based on trust, relationships, and referrals. When you’re newer, you’re asking couples to trust you with one of the most important days of their lives before you necessarily have years and years of weddings in your portfolio. Building that trust, creating relationships with other vendors, and getting my name in front of the right people has taken a lot of consistency and patience.

Another challenge has been learning just how much goes into owning a business beyond the actual wedding planning. There’s marketing, social media, networking, contracts, pricing, client communication, website management, bookkeeping, and so many other things happening behind the scenes. I started Dani & Co. because I love planning and creating events, but I’ve had to learn how to be a business owner at the same time.

I’ve also been building Dani & Co. while working another full-time job, which has required a lot of late nights, early mornings, weekends, and learning how to balance everything without losing sight of why I started in the first place.

There have absolutely been moments of questioning myself, adjusting things that weren’t working, and learning through experience. But I’ve tried to look at every challenge as an opportunity to make Dani & Co. stronger. I’m constantly learning, evolving, and shaping Dani & Co. into the business I’ve envisioned. I’m incredibly proud of how much it has grown and excited for what’s ahead.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Dani & Co. is a wedding and event planning company based in Southern Oregon, specializing in wedding management, partial planning, and full-service planning. I work with couples at different stages of the planning process, whether they’ve planned most of their wedding themselves and need someone to step in and bring everything together, or they want support from the very beginning.

At the heart of what I do is taking the stress and logistics off my clients’ shoulders so they can actually enjoy the experience. There are so many moving pieces behind a wedding that guests never see, vendor communication, timelines, setup, transitions, problem solving, and countless little details happening behind the scenes. My job is to anticipate those things, have a plan for them, and make sure my couples aren’t the ones worrying about them on their wedding day.

I think what sets Dani & Co. apart is how personal I want the experience to feel. I genuinely care about getting to know my couples, understanding what matters most to them, and creating a wedding that feels like them rather than following a formula. I’m very detail oriented and organized, but I also want my clients to feel like they have someone in their corner throughout the process, someone they can trust, ask questions, bounce ideas off of, and know will advocate for them.

I’m also not afraid to be hands-on. Wedding days rarely go exactly according to plan, and I’m willing to jump in wherever I’m needed, whether that means adjusting a timeline, communicating with vendors, fixing a décor detail, or solving a problem before the couple ever knows there was one.

What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. Being invited into such an important and personal season of someone’s life is something I don’t take lightly. Seeing a couple finally walk into the celebration we’ve spent months planning and watching them genuinely enjoy themselves because they know everything is being handled is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

As Dani & Co. continues to grow, I want to stay true to that personal approach. I never want this to become a business where couples feel like just another name on a calendar. My goal is to create an experience that feels organized, intentional, supportive, and completely unique to each couple, effortlessly elegant and unforgettably you.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Medford and Southern Oregon is the sense of community and how much beauty we have right in our backyard. We have vineyards, mountains, beautiful outdoor spaces, and so many unique venues, which makes this an incredible place to work in the wedding and event industry. I also really value the relationships I’ve been able to build with other local business owners and wedding professionals. There is something special about being able to support one another while also serving our community.

If I had to choose something I like least, I would say I’d love to see even more opportunities for small businesses to connect, collaborate, and gain exposure locally. Starting a business has shown me just how important community support and word of mouth can be, especially for newer businesses trying to establish themselves.

Overall, I’m grateful to be building Dani & Co. here. Southern Oregon has so much to offer, and I’m excited to continue growing alongside the community and contribute to the wedding and event industry here in a meaningful way.
