Community Highlights: Meet Bendhypnobirthing@gmail.com Davis of Bend Hypnobirthing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bendhypnobirthing@gmail.com Davis.

Hi bendhypnobirthing@gmail.com, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After spending a decade practicing as a Certified Nurse-Midwife in California, I (Bre) returned to her home state of Oregon with a deep desire to bring a more holistic, accessible approach to childbirth education for families right here in Bend. Christina is my partner at Bend Hypnobirthing, and her and I both see the immense benefits of these tools every day in our work at St. Charles Hospital, but my deepest belief in the practice came in 2022 during the birth of my own son. Experiencing firsthand how transformative and grounding hypnobirthing could be completely changed my perspective as both a mother and a midwife. Inspired by that experience, Christina and I founded our business to empower local parents, blending our clinical expertise with a passionate belief that every birthing person deserves to feel calm, capable, and supported.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a wonderfully supportive journey, though stepping out of the hospital and into the business world definitely brought a learning curve. While Christina and I feel entirely at home with clinical care, navigating the administrative and tech-heavy sides of launching a new business was a brand-new frontier for us. Thankfully, after completing our “Love Your Birth” Hypnobirthing teacher training certification, we put our heads together and leaned into our strengths as a team. We have been incredibly blessed by the overwhelming warmth of our local community; Bend’s birth and postpartum workers welcomed us with open arms from day one. Any minor growing pains have been completely outweighed by that collaborative spirit and the joy of watching our vision come to life.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Bend Hypnobirthing?
At Bend Hypnobirthing, we specialize in comprehensive, in-person childbirth education and labor coping techniques right here in Bend. What completely sets us apart is our background; we are proud to provide the only hypnobirthing classes in Central Oregon taught entirely by practicing midwives. We infuse our monthly and bimonthly group sessions with clinical expertise, lighthearted humor, and deep, evidence-based data, turning weeknights and weekends into a profound bonding experience for couples. We place a massive emphasis on empowering partners, teaching them hands-on, practical techniques so they can actively navigate labor together, while also creating a warm space for local parents to connect and build community. Ultimately, our brand is defined by how a family remembers their day; we are most proud when our clients walk away feeling deeply positive, empowered, and proud of their birth experience—no matter what path their labor takes.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What truly makes Bend special to us is the incredible community spirit and our unparalleled connection to the outdoors. We absolutely love being surrounded by nature, especially having such easy access to the water for paddleboarding, floating, or just unwinding by the river. Even though the area has grown substantially over the years, the people here have kept their incredibly friendly nature, and the city still holds onto those close-knit, small-town vibes that make raising a family here so wonderful. If we had to pick one thing we like least, it would definitely be the summer smoke season, which can make it tough to get out and enjoy the environment we love so much. But overall, the warmth of the families we meet through our work makes this the perfect place to call home.
