Community Highlights: Meet Beth Mecklenburg of Steelhead Strong Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Mecklenburg.

Hi Beth, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been active almost all of my life, either playing sports or working out in some form. I started at the gym that I now own about 12 yrs ago. I became very close with the owner and when an opportunity came up for her to move on, a little over 2 yrs ago, I decided to buy the gym and keep it going for our community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part it has been a smooth road as far as the gym has gone. But I had never owned a business of any kind before, or even thought about owning one, so that part of this was a little bumpy for me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Steelhead Strong Fitness?
Steelhead Strong Fitness is a small community gym in Medford. We offer daily coach led classes for functional fitness. Our trained coaches lead the class through warm-ups, strength training and metabolic conditioning. Our smaller class sizes allow for more personalized training sessions. As our gym is smaller, it has given the coaches & members to become a great close knit community, where we can enjoy each other outside of the gym as well. We offer new members discounted one on one training through our Foundations program, as well at individual & family memberships.
