My name is Christy Jacobo, and I’m a registered nurse with a passion for holistic healing. My journey into wellness became deeply personal after a significant accident left me unable to walk for nearly nine months. During my recovery, I was determined to heal without relying heavily on medication, which led me to discover the incredible benefits of water therapy and acupuncture.
That experience transformed not only my recovery but also the way I practice nursing. While I deeply value Western medicine and the lifesaving care it provides, I also recognize the important role that complementary therapies can play in treating both acute and chronic conditions and supporting overall well-being.
In 2023, I purchased Vitalize with the vision of creating a space where evidence-based healthcare and holistic wellness work together. Although I’m not an acupuncturist myself, I’m incredibly fortunate to have an exceptional team—many of whom have been part of the Vitalize family for years. Together, we’re committed to educating our community, promoting body positivity and inclusivity, and helping people feel their best through personalized, natural approaches to health, aesthetics, and healing.
Owning Vitalize has allowed me to be part of that mission in a much deeper way than simply as a business owner. Through continued education and hands-on training in naturopathic health, medical aesthetics, injectables, and advanced skincare, I discovered another passion: helping people build confidence while supporting healthy, natural skin and that is how East = West Holistic Skin Care was born. Seeing clients regain confidence, embrace self-care, and feel empowered in their own skin has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.

Business ownership has definitely been one of the most rewarding—and challenging—experiences of my career. There is so much that goes into the day-to-day operations of a small business that most people never see. You’re constantly balancing the needs of your clients, your team, and the business itself, while making sure everything continues to move forward, even during slower seasons or difficult times.
People often say that small business owners wear many hats, but I think that’s an understatement. On any given day, I can be a nurse, mentor, educator, business owner, marketer, problem solver, and cheerleader. It requires resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to keep learning.
What makes it all worthwhile is the incredible team at Vitalize. They genuinely care about every client who walks through our doors, and that shared passion allows us to stay grounded in our purpose. At the end of the day, we remember why we do what we do—to help people feel healthier, more confident, and cared for. That mission keeps us moving forward, no matter the challenges.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
One thing that surprises people is that, during the week, I serve as a Vice President of Clinical Services, overseeing clinical operations across multiple states. It’s not the title itself that’s important—it’s the reaction I get when people realize I also own a wellness practice centered around acupuncture, holistic healing, aesthetics, and creating a calming, restorative experience.
At first glance, those worlds can seem completely different. People often picture me in a business suit discussing clinical compliance, regulations, and healthcare operations, not talking about energy work or holistic wellness. But to me, they are deeply connected.
As a registered nurse, I’ve seen firsthand how evidence-based medicine saves lives. I’ve also experienced the profound impact that holistic therapies can have on healing, recovery, stress reduction, and overall well-being. My philosophy has never been about choosing one over the other—it’s about recognizing that the best care often comes from thoughtfully integrating both.
Something even more unexpected is that I’m also a TikTok Live host, where I spend time talking about wellness, confidence, and empowering people to live healthier, more balanced lives. It’s a fun way to connect with people from all walks of life, answer questions, and make wellness feel approachable and inclusive. Between leading clinical teams, owning Vitalize, and going live online, people often ask when I sleep—and honestly, I ask myself the same thing! But when you’re passionate about helping others, the energy and purpose make it all worthwhile.
Whether I’m leading clinical teams, caring for clients at Vitalize, or connecting with people online, my goal is always the same: to help others achieve the best possible outcomes through compassion, education, and excellence.
