Itai, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Itai Pearl, and I am the founder of Comprehensive Home Solutions, a moving company based in Portland, Oregon.
My entrepreneurial journey began with a desire to build something meaningful from the ground up and create opportunities for my family and the people around me. I did not come from a background of business ownership, so everything I have learned has come through hard work, experience, and a willingness to take risks when opportunities presented themselves.
In 2025, I started Comprehensive Home Solutions with a simple goal: provide a higher level of service in an industry where trust, communication, and professionalism matter. What began as a small local moving company quickly grew into something much larger. I realized that we were not just moving furniture, we were helping people through some of the biggest transitions of their lives. Whether it was a family relocating across the country, a senior downsizing after decades in the same home, or a business moving into a new space, every move carried a story and a responsibility.
Like many entrepreneurs, I started by doing everything myself. I answered phones, provided estimates, scheduled jobs, loaded trucks, managed crews, and handled operations. The early days were filled with long hours, uncertainty, and challenges that tested my commitment. There were moments when growth felt difficult and resources were limited, but those experiences taught me resilience, problem-solving, and the importance of never giving up.
Over time, the company expanded from local moves into long-distance relocations throughout the United States. We built a reputation for reliability, professionalism, and treating every customer’s belongings with care and respect. As the company grew, so did our team, creating opportunities for hardworking individuals to develop new skills and build careers within the organization.
One of the things I am most proud of is building a company culture focused on service, accountability, and personal growth. I believe businesses have a responsibility not only to serve customers well but also to create opportunities for employees to improve their lives and achieve their goals.
Today, Comprehensive Home Solutions is entering an exciting new chapter. We recently secured a larger warehouse facility and are expanding our moving and storage capabilities to better serve customers throughout Oregon, Washington, and beyond. Looking ahead, my vision is to continue growing the company, create more jobs, expand into new markets, and build a trusted brand that customers can rely on during life’s biggest transitions.
At its core, my story is about perseverance, faith, hard work, and the belief that with dedication and a commitment to serving others, it is possible to build something meaningful from the ground up.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has definitely not been a smooth road. Like most entrepreneurs, I have faced plenty of challenges along the way.
One of the biggest challenges was starting with limited resources while trying to build a company from the ground up. In the early days, I was responsible for every aspect of the business, from sales and marketing to customer service, operations, and physically completing moves. There were many long days, late nights, and difficult decisions that came with trying to grow while maintaining high standards of service.
Cash flow has been another challenge. Growing a business requires constant investment in equipment, vehicles, employees, insurance, marketing, and infrastructure. There were times when balancing growth with financial stability was extremely difficult, especially while trying to create opportunities for employees and maintain excellent service for customers.
Hiring and building a team has also been a learning experience. Finding people who share the same work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to customer service can be challenging. As the company grew, I had to learn how to transition from doing everything myself to becoming a leader who trains, mentors, and develops others.
The moving industry itself presents unique challenges. Every job is different, every customer has different needs, and unexpected situations arise regularly. We have had to adapt to changing market conditions, seasonal fluctuations, rising costs, and increasing competition while continuing to deliver a high-quality experience.
Beyond business challenges, there have been personal obstacles as well. Entrepreneurship can be mentally and emotionally demanding because the responsibility ultimately falls on you. There is no guaranteed paycheck, and every success or failure becomes a learning opportunity. Those experiences have taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of staying focused on long-term goals.
Looking back, I would not change the challenges because they helped shape both me and the company. Every obstacle forced me to improve, learn new skills, and become a better leader. While the journey has not been easy, overcoming those challenges has made the success much more meaningful.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is knowing that we are genuinely helping people during some of the biggest transitions of their lives. Moving can be stressful, emotional, and overwhelming, and being able to step in and make that process easier for someone is incredibly rewarding.
The most fulfilling part of my work is hearing the gratitude from customers after a successful move. Whether it’s a family settling into a new home, a senior transitioning to the next chapter of life, or someone relocating across the country, knowing that our team made a difficult experience easier gives me a sense of purpose that goes far beyond financial success.
While building a business is important, no amount of money can replace the feeling of knowing you’ve made a positive impact on someone’s life. That is what originally drew me to this industry and what continues to motivate me every day.
I believe that true success comes from serving others. Being able to help people accomplish something they couldn’t easily do on their own, while providing peace of mind during a major life transition, is what makes this work meaningful. Seeing the relief, appreciation, and happiness on our customers’ faces at the end of a move is what makes me happy and reminds me why I chose this path.
