Community Highlights: Meet Jennie Grip of Leva

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennie Grip.

Hi Jennie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve worked within the Hospitality industry as well as Architecture and Design for all my life, Leva is a culmination of both. It was born from the need of a space to gather outside of home, that was still private and could hold many types of events while still feeling warm and inviting. A turnkey gathering space, where you can add as much or as little as you want. I’ve needed it for baby showers and holiday parties, but also for workshops and off site meetings. So I decided to build it, and now it’s here!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest obstacle has been myself in some ways. The fear of failure, the imposter rearing it’s ugly head. Ultimately it came down to research, to connecting with new folks that can teach me the ropes and to trusting that I have something to offer and to share with the world. And to blindly put on the sales hat sometimes and fool yourself that you can do it. This is just the beginning, now we’re working on getting the word out and that’s a huge challenge within itself!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Leva?
Leva is a turnkey furnished gathering space. It’s your home, scaled up and ready for you to step in as the host. Call it a micro event venue, but really it’s a third place, between your home and a public restaurant or cafe. We have a 3000 sq feet of foyer, living room, dining and both a showroom style kitchen and a full cater-in kitchen. We also have bathrooms, a changing room, a get ready area and storage. The space comes furnished with a dining setup of up to 34 guests and you’re able to add on tableware for all as well. Leva is modern Scandinavian with a vintage twist. Its truly a space like no other.

Any big plans?
