Today we’d like to introduce you to Faith Talbot.
Hi Faith, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Faith. I grew up in a big family located primarily in the Midwest but moved around regularly for my Dads job. When I was 6 I had my first pony ride and the rest was history from there. My teens years was spent involved in 4-H, FFA, rodeo and anything horse related I could get myself into. When I was 16 I was a passenger of a severe car accident. Only 3 of the 4 occupants walked away with their lives. This led me to choose the career path of a paramedic. I’ve been in EMS close to 7 years now and it had been the best career to coexist with an equine focused lifestyle. While I was in paramedic school and covid was becoming the new reality I decided to make an Instagram for my horse related adventures. Over the years it continued to grow. The topics expanded from horses, to western fashion and home decor. I married my husband when I was 23. He was a ranch manager and very quickly I became fully involved in ranching and cowboy culture. My Instagram reflected that as well. I enjoy sharing the western lifestyle on social media and all the moving parts involved with it.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I had hardly been around cattle prior to meeting my husband. It felt like there was an endless list of things I was learning how to do. There were a lot of days where my confidence was low and I felt like I was in the way more than I was helping. However, with time I became more capable and felt more like an asset to the team.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I remember being young and always admiring other “influencers” on social media when it came to cowboy culture. When I finally took the leap to do it myself it was an exciting journey. I didn’t know what to expect or what exactly I was doing. Seeing it be successful was a big deal to me because I just felt like every other normal horse girl. I proud to have built my platform and to have an audience that stayed with me during all my changes in life. I started as a Wisconsin gymkhana girl, now my audience is watching me navigate the day to day of “ranch wife life”.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My sister served a major role in the beginning. She was always taking my photos and videos while supporting me in anything and everything I needed. Without her my platform would not exist. My husband later on helped me too when it came to achieving my goals and content needs. Both always had my back and cheered me on even when I felt discouraged.
