Conversations with Laura Luczkiw

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Luczkiw.

Laura, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am Laura, I have been a dietitian for over 13 years. I specialize in functional nutrition for women’s health, ongoing gut struggles like IBS, metabolism restoration, intuitive eating, and eating disorder recovery. I am a wife and mom of three little ones, and I love helping women find joy in the journey of finding a healthy lifestyle that supports their body for the long haul!

I know the struggle. In high school I suffered from a serious eating disorder. Thankfully, I was able to heal in part by working with a dietitian. Her help is what made me want to become a dietitian.

In my 30s I started having IBS like gut struggles. After running around from doctor to doctor and still feeling lost, I discovered functional medicine. It was the first time I was able to find the root causes of my digestive issues through functional gut testing. Since then, I have been diving into functional gut health trainings. I now know first hand what it is like to suffer and find freedom from an eating disorder and from gut issues.

That’s why I am here. I want to see more women heal their bodies. I want to provide you with a nutrition foundation that is easy and healthy for your body and soul. Taking care of your body doesn’t have to take over your life, and you can definitely have wiggle room. I hope you’ll be able to take a deep breath of fresh air if you work with me.

There’s a balance between fueling your body so that you can feel your best, while allowing for food freedom and joy. I believe you can have both. I want to help you on that journey!

I have experience with intuitive eating, nutrition for ongoing gut issues like IBS and SIBO, nutrition for moms, postpartum nutrition, eating disorders, metabolism restoring, healing from burn out, and health coaching. I also have personal experience with all of the above too!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No! Lots of learning curves with opening up my own business. I had to really learn where I wanted and needed to put my energy and focus. I love helping people with their health, but I am not a natural business owner. I have had to learn how to run a business. Lots of learning, stretching and going!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have lived experience as a lot of my clients, so I am super eager to help them get the help they need. I am very thankful and amazed that the work I do really changes peoples (and their family’s lives). When a person is freed from gut issues, their whole world opens back up! Talking to a client that is no longer experiencing dibilitating symptoms gives me great joy!
I also have a root cause approach. I am not just dealing with symptoms, I am working to help someone actually heal.
