Daily Inspiration: Meet April Wilner

Today we’d like to introduce you to April Wilner.

April, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Metamorphose Labs grew out of evolution. I wanted to create a world out of my love for fantasy and dark romanticism. Through jewelry I bring those ideas to life creating pieces that feel like they have a story of their own to tell.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges was finding a way to finance everything I needed to bring my ideas to life. Building a creative business requires a lot of investment and figuring out how to make it all happen within my budget was often the hardest part.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work is a reflection of my love for fantasy and gothic romanticism. I enjoy taking an idea from my head and bringing it to life through the process of wax carving and creating jewelry. Metamorphose Labs is constantly evolving and I love experimenting and exploring new ideas through my work.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’m grateful for the friends who have supported my creative vision, especially those who helped bring my ideas to life during my most recent photoshoot. Having people willing to contribute their time, creativity and energy to help me realize my ideas has meant a lot to me. Building a brand can be a very independent journey, so having that kind of support makes a difference.
