Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Alexander.
Hi Nick, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born and raised in southern Oregon. As a child I always enjoyed the art of storytelling, picking up a camcorder and filming silly skits with my three sisters starting in fifth grade.
In middle and high school I took video production classes, learning how to film and the technical aspects. I made films with friends and went on to study emerging media and digital arts at Southern Oregon University , graduating in 2916.
Currently, I am the owner and director of Nick Alexander Film (NAF), a video production company and marketing agency here in Medford. NAF is a creative partner for capturing visual stories, promoting products and elevating services. I started the business immediately after graduation from SOU, so I just celebrated a decade of doing business in Southern Oregon, across the state and around the world.
Before I went full time with my business, I worked as ad adjunct faculty member at Rogue Community College, teaching 100 level Spanish. Also during that time, I taught Spanish to elementary, middle and high school students at Grace and Cascade Christian Schools.
I also worked as a photographer and editor at KDRV TV before I went full time with NAF.
Over the past ten years, my video production business has worked with over tow hundred different businesses, creating hundreds of different videos, testimonials, documentaries and films to promote their products, services and missions.
In 2024 and 2025, Nick Alexander Films received “Best Videographer” according to Community Votes Medford, OR
In 2024, I received the Rising Star Award, issued by the Josephine County Chamber of Commerce.
Being fluent in Spanish and having cultural experience in the Latin American world, these qualities led me to my first feature film: Illegal. It premiered at a New York City film festival in 2020, went on to be an official selection at 50+ film festivals, and achieved commercial distribution on VOD July 2021.
In 2025-2026, I volunteered and the Chamber Leadership Marketing Chair through the Medford Chamber Leadership Program. I spearheaded a fundraiser to help raise money to build a tiny home at Joy Community. Together with my co-chair, we created and organized the marketing assets, published articles, posts and press releases which all led to the successfully built tiny home for one senior citizen in need.
Also in 2026, I participated in the Emerging Leaders project where I participated with a dozen other young leaders of southern Oregon to fundraise for families in need of housing and meals. I created video content to elevate the campaign and reach more donors, where we brought in more than $100,000 in donations.
Outside of business, I am a board member of Film Southern Oregon, Youth71Five, and SOU Alumni .
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Running a business is full of challenges and growth opportunities, lessons and difficult times. It’s worth it though.
I just celebrated ten years of running my business. I took a huge risk leaving my other jobs in pursuit of what I was most passionate so it. It definitely paid off.
As you know, we’re big fans of Nick Alexander Films. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I already mentioned a bit previously, but what makes NAF special is that we are completely in house, locally based in Medford, OR. We focus on the storytelling element and finding the emotion in every aspect to compel the viewer to take action and be moved.
What I’m most proud of is my team, their hard work and drive to take care of every client. Together, we can accomplish so much more.
We don’t just do video production. We are a marketing agency which means we create video, do photography, run advertising campaigns, and elevate brands through detailed and strategic marketing practices.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
No.
