Hidden Gems: Meet Alex Ness of AVM FITNESS LLC.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Ness.

Alex, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
HERE’S THE TRUTH: MOST PEOPLE WANT TO SEE THREE YEARS OF RESULTS IN JUST SIX MONTHS’ TIME. THEY DON’T REALIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF BUILDING A WHOLE-BODY CONNECTION, ESTABLISHING DAILY HABITS, AND SETTING REALISTIC GOALS TO CREATE LASTING CHANGE.

OSU Graduate 2014

Portland, OR. 2014-2021

Coming out of college I started my career working at the West Side Athletic Club in downtown nw and Divison. The environment was ripe for great experience working alongside physical therapists, acupuncturists, and chiropractic practitioners.

Corvallis, OR. 2021-present

Establishing a physical location at the Eastgate Circle Business Center off HWY 34, contracts with the Benton county community services for sliver and fit communities, local workshops, classes, 1-1 training and community events.

AVM Fitness is a small, private gym in Corvallis specializing in corrective exercise, strength training, injury prevention & more.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Growth is not measured by time, it’s measured by change over time, and transformation. Smooth is never a complete measure. I had the impression and idea to provide quality services in preventative injury management and corrective exercise. It ultimately took courage, problem solving, critical thinking, networking, research and development, collaboration, guidance, self- reflection, and mentorship: to have a strong heart, and clear vision to provide excellence in the service of customers.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

I DON’T JUST HELP YOU GET IN SHAPE. I HELP YOU CONNECT WITH YOUR BODY.

Certified personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist, husband, and proud father I have a lifelong passion for movement, performance, and helping others feel and function at their best.

I believe that fitness can and should be fun when you have a clear connection with your body and understand how exercise is supposed to feel. Whether I’m working with a client with Parkinson’s disease or a young student athlete, my priorities remain the same: understanding your history, your current life phase, and your goals—and why they matter to you. With this knowledge, I create a fully tailored workout routine that appropriately challenges you where you’re at while progressing you toward the next phase of life, whatever that may be.

My goal is to help you feel mentally and physically strong as you age, so you can live well for the long term. That means showing up consistently, embracing the challenges that come with growth, and treating your body with the love and respect it deserves.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My Wife: the best thing that ever happened to me.
My Kids: they give me meaning and purpose everyday.
My Business Coach: gave me the belief to start
My Clients: inspire me more than they know- when they start, when remain dedicated to their goals, when trusting the process, and how they transform
