Hidden Gems: Meet Courtney Finley of Organized Designs, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Finley.

Hi Courtney, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I really got started in Chicago, where I’m originally from. I have a BFA in Interior Design, from the start I’ve always been an

organized person from an early age and I’ve always had an interest in art and design, due to my mom having a fine arts

and graphic design background, so you could say I get it from my mom – minus the organizing part! After I got married

to my husband we moved to the San Diego area from there I started my organizing business, where I found a group of

home stagers and realtors from there I became the go to organizer for all of their clients. We lived there for 8 years until

we moved to Hillsboro, Oregon and bought our first house going on 5 years, since moving to Oregon I’ve been

establishing my organizing business, getting clients and referrals!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It not been a smooth road to say the least, when we moved to San Diego it took me about 2-3 years to really get my

business off the ground, but then after 8 years of being in San Diego buying our first house and moving to Oregon it’s

definitely been a challenge because I was brand new and I had no idea where to start, but eventually I joined my local

chamber, joined an all women’s networking group and I even started volunteering at a local non – profit clothing shop

because I got to know the owner over the years and we became really good friends!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I help working professionals and small business owners in achieving organization by creating efficient systems to help

them maintain order. I utilize my organizing skills to help working professionals to have by creating a more livable and

workable space.

I specialize in decluttering and downsizing with a minimalist approach and I also create individualized organizational

systems that work for my client’s lifestyle! My website has all the info about the services that I offer and you can

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Always keep moving forward, show up not only for yourself, but for your business as well! Join a couple networking

groups and your local chamber that can really help get the word out about your business! That it takes a little bit longer

than you think to really establish yourself, but you have to do the work!!
