Today we’d like to introduce you to Dallas Rincon.
Hi Dallas, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I worked in drive-thru coffee straight out of high school and fell in love with not only the craft but also the customer interaction. The idea that you were apart of someone’s routine and that they came to get a coffee rain or shine, good or bad day, was pretty cool and I realized it was an easy place to be impactful. So after my time there I worked a few more jobs for small businesses around town, collecting skills and information along the way. I decided I had enough experience in customer service and wanted to get back into facilitating that relationship with customers my way. And so, Bumble and Bean was born. It was important to me that my shop was a sit down cafe style rather than a drive thru to help make that customer interaction more intentional and to have a space to cultivate community the way coffee can. We are now about to celebrate two years at the beginning of October and the support from our community here in Roseburg and surrounding areas has been nothing short of amazing.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say starting a business is a lot of hard work, but we haven’t experienced any major struggles.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a small local coffee shop located in Roseburg OR. I grew up in this small town and love being able to pour into the community that shaped me into who I am. I love being apart of such a supportive community that truly cares about supporting local. I use beans from an awesome local coffee roaster, Carter’s Coffee and milk from Umpqua Dairy which is located here in Roseburg as well. We also offer handmade pottery from a local artist and feature flowers in the shop from a local florist. We are best known for our coffee flights we offer on Saturdays and Sundays. These are a set menu of four coffees that vary between hot or cold depending on the season. The menu changes seasonally and is a fun way to try something you wouldn’t normally. We try really hard to think outside of the box and keep our menus fun and new.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love how centrally located Roseburg is. It’s just in the center of all the amazing things Oregon has to offer. You can drive about an hour or two in any direction and be at the coast or snowboarding in the winter, not to mention it’s beautiful in itself. We are pretty spoiled having the hiking trails, swimming holes and waterfalls we do just sitting in our backyard. Not many people can say that. I think if I really had to pick something that is my least favorite, it would be that we don’t have a ton of fun things to do that are drawing younger people here and persuading them to stay and raise families here. I think we as a town are absolutely working in that direction and a lot of businesses are opening up and building that up which is so great to see.
