Hi Elana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Elana Scharff, NP with 6 years of hospital experience working in General Surgery as a bilingual acute care nurse practitioner and 13 years experience as a nurse in medical-surgical and cardiology nursing. With the fast paced environment of the hospital, I learned how to manage patients acutely ill and with chronic medical conditions. I bring that experience as Medical Director/NP Injector with 7 years of experience to every patient I see at my current medical wellness/aesthetics practice Elevated Aesthetics at Palace Aesthetics: A Beauty Collective.
I am obsessed with traveling! I am grateful for my volunteer experience from South America to Africa and community involvement history which have deepened my respect for the medical providers’ roles and helped show me the empathy and perseverance required to devote my career to caring for others. My extensive experience with people of diverse backgrounds, and work with varying levels of patient acuity, have helped prepare me to be a great contributor to my health care team as an advanced practice provider. Most importantly, meeting each of my patients’ goals is my number one priority!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Every path comes with obstacles—and mine began during my RN program when I suffered a fall at work and broke my ankle. What felt like a devastating setback turned into a defining moment. Being held back nine months was difficult, but during that time, I chose to keep moving forward. I earned additional certifications, completed portions of my BSN, and mapped out a clear path toward becoming a nurse practitioner.
Then came the challenges of working in the hospital during COVID—an experience that tested all of us healthcare workers in ways we could have never imagined. The long days, the emotional weight, and the uncertainty were overwhelming at times. But we endured, and I’m incredibly grateful to stand on the other side of that chapter—stronger, more compassionate, and thankful for my interdisciplinary team comradery.
Those seasons taught me resilience, patience, and the power of perspective. I am endlessly grateful for my family, friends, and coworkers, whose support and encouragement carried me through when I needed it most.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is my nearest and dearest family and friends. But, as a nurse practitioner, volunteer, and aesthetic injector I believe that caring for people in a way that is both ethical and deeply human is always the priority. No matter the setting—clinical, community-based, or aesthetic—I believe my role is to listen first, understand each individual’s needs, and provide care that is safe, honest, and rooted in trust.
As a nurse practitioner, patient safety and evidence-based practice are always my foundation. As a volunteer, giving back and making care accessible reminds me why I chose this profession in the first place—it’s about service, compassion, and showing up for people when they need it most. And as an aesthetic injector, I see my work as an extension of that same philosophy: enhancing natural beauty in a way that supports confidence without compromising authenticity.
Across all of these roles, integrity matters most to me. I’m committed to never over-treating, to educating my patients so they can make empowered decisions, and to creating results that feel aligned with who they are—not a version of them that feels artificial or unattainable.
