Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronald Carbo.
Hi Ronald, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Ronald Carbo was born and raised in Ecuador before moving to the United States in the early 2000s in search of greater opportunities. He entered the moving industry in 2008, working for local companies and learning every aspect of the business from the ground up. A few years later, he earned his CDL, which allowed him to expand his experience and take on long-distance and more complex relocations.
After spending more than a decade helping build other companies, Ronald felt it was time to build something of his own. He founded his business with a simple goal: to provide dependable, honest, and high-quality moving services while treating every customer’s belongings with the same care and respect he would give his own.
Today, his company reflects nearly two decades of hands-on industry experience, hard work, and perseverance. As a business owner, Ronald takes great pride in creating a company built on trust, strong customer relationships, and a commitment to making what is often a stressful life event a positive experience for families and businesses alike. His journey from Ecuador to business ownership is a testament to the value of determination, taking risks, and believing in the long-term rewards of hard work.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say it has been a pretty smooth road because it has always been a team effort. Like any big leap, there is a learning period, especially when you go from working for someone else to owning your own business. There are always new responsibilities and things you have to figure out along the way.
The scariest part was taking the risk and believing in ourselves enough to make that jump. I focused on providing the labor and serving our customers, while my spouse learned the business side of things, like bookkeeping, scheduling, and managing the day-to-day office work.
Because we were able to divide those responsibilities and support each other, the transition felt much smoother than it could have been. Building this business has truly been a partnership from day one.
Of course, there are still challenges, but we’ve learned that when you work together and stay committed to the same goal, you can overcome almost anything. Looking back, taking that risk was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Xpress Man Movers is a family-owned, locally operated moving company that helps people with local and long-distance moves throughout Oregon and beyond.
What sets us apart is that I’m still very hands-on in the business. I personally go out on jobs, and most of my work today is focused on long-haul moves. After nearly two decades in the industry, I understand every part of the process and can help make sure our customers receive the level of service they deserve.
What I’m most proud of is the trust we’ve built with our customers. A lot of our business comes from repeat customers and referrals, which means a lot to me. It tells me that people value the work we do and trust us during some of the biggest transitions in their lives.
More than anything, I want people to know that we’re a small family business that takes pride in our work. We’ve built this company one move at a time, and we’re grateful for every customer who has trusted us over the years.
What are your plans for the future?
Right now, my focus is on continuing to grow the business while keeping the same values we’ve had from the beginning.
I’m also looking forward to expanding our long-haul moving services, since that’s become a big part of what I do. At the same time, it’s important to me that we grow at a pace that allows us to maintain the quality of our work and the personal approach we’ve built the company on.
More than anything, I’m excited to see where the next few years take us. Starting this business was a big step, and I’m proud of how far we’ve come. My goal is to continue learning, improving, and building something that will last for years to come.
