Today we’d like to introduce you to Blake Chastain.
Hi Blake, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We started printing in our single car garage 15 years ago as a side hobby/business. A clothing line was our first ambitioin and we pivoted that idea a few years in. We decided to transition our business to be a service to our community by printing for businesses locally and nationally. After a few years we were able to move out of our garage and migrate to larger building. We currently fill our 1500 sqft industrial shop and love the space. Over the years we have learned more and more about how to bring businesses and individuals ideas to life on clothing.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. There were a lot of learning curves with not only the printing process but also growth. Every time we grow it makes it hard to decide when it is the right time to hire and when to wait. Sometimes that means a lot of extra work and not enough people for a smooth workload.
We’ve been impressed with Destined Clothing LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a for-purpose company, we take a unique approach to how we do business.
While we work with budgets of all kinds, we’re focused on providing high-quality clothing for your business, every time. Before any of your products leave our doors, we double- and triple-check our work for errors and even pray for the impact your products will have on each person they touch.
At Destined Clothing, our products are the tools we use to connect with our community. While many print shops like ours use their resources to give to charity, we use our time and money to personally invest in the community of businesses leaders right here in Bend—people just like you.
We do in house screen printing, embroidery and heat transfers. We are known for our customer service and responsiveness to calls and emails. We have people shocked when we answer the phone or get back to them so quickly and have often heard that we were the only company that got back to them. We are proud of the quality of our service and products that go out the door. We want people to have quality and feel important when they come through the door.
We are often told to automate our customer service for quicker intake of orders, but that would change who we are. We are a company that wants to have personal connections to our clients and have a real person to talk to when there are questions or issues. We also have a lobby with samples that help people pick the products that they want.
What were you like growing up?
I have always been energetic and constantly outdoors. There was never a dull moment as I enjoy(ed) fishing, hunting, snowboarding, 4wheeling, sports etc. I grew up in a small town/community where everyone knew each other.
Pricing:
- We evaluate our pricing every year to be competitive. We are not the most expensive in town, but also not the cheapest. Pricing is as customized depending on the order.
