Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Renteria.
Hi Chris, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into entrepreneurship has been anything but a straight line. I’ve experienced success, setbacks, hard lessons, and rebuilding seasons that shaped me into the business owner I am today. I come from a blue-collar background and have always believed in hard work, accountability, and taking care of people. Those values became the foundation of everything I’ve built.
Before launching Ren Lyfe Roofing & Restoration, I had already been in business and learned firsthand what it takes to run a company through both growth and adversity. After going through a difficult chapter that forced me to reset, I made the decision to come back stronger, wiser, and more intentional. That season became the birthplace of Ren Lyfe.
What started as a vision to build something meaningful quickly became a family-driven company rooted in quality, integrity, and legacy. We didn’t want to be just another roofing company—we wanted to build a brand people could trust and a company our community could be proud of. Through relentless work, staying true to our word, and treating every home like it was our own, we were able to grow into a seven-figure business in a relatively short time.
Today, Ren Lyfe represents much more than roofing. It represents perseverance, second chances, leadership, and creating opportunity for others. We continue to grow across Oregon, and I’m still as hungry as ever—not just to build a successful company, but to build something that lasts and positively impacts the people around us.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all—it has been far from a smooth road, and I think that’s the reality for most entrepreneurs, even if people only see the finished product. Behind every milestone are challenges, setbacks, sleepless nights, and moments where you question everything.
About five years ago, I had to restart completely from zero. That was one of the most humbling seasons of my life. To go from having momentum to rebuilding from the ground up tests you in every way—mentally, emotionally, financially, and spiritually. It forced me to dig deep, trust God, and bet on myself again when the odds didn’t feel in my favor.
Like many business owners, I’ve also faced cash flow pressure, staffing challenges, operational growing pains, and the weight of carrying responsibility for employees, customers, and family all at once. There were seasons where opportunities were big but resources were limited, and I had to make hard decisions in real time.
One of the biggest lessons I learned is that growth alone doesn’t equal success. You can grow quickly, but if your systems, leadership, and structure don’t grow with it, it can create stress and instability. I had to evolve from simply being a hard worker into becoming a stronger leader, planner, and visionary.
Recently, we made the strategic decision to restructure from Ren Lyfe Contracting LLC to Ren Lyfe Roofing & Restoration. That shift was intentional—it reflects our sharpened focus, our commitment to mastering our niche, and the bigger direction we’re taking the brand. We’re not trying to be everything to everyone anymore. We’re building a premier roofing and restoration company known for quality, trust, and service.
There were definitely moments where quitting would have been the easier option. But those seasons built resilience, sharpened my mindset, and gave me perspective. Looking back now, the struggles didn’t break me—they refined me and prepared me for where we’re headed next.
We’ve been impressed with Ren Lyfe Roofing & Restoration LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ren Lyfe Roofing & Restoration is a family-driven roofing company built on the values of integrity, quality craftsmanship, and genuine care for people. We specialize in residential roofing systems, roof replacements, repairs, inspections, and restoration work, serving homeowners throughout Oregon. Our mission has always been bigger than just putting on roofs—we aim to protect families, improve homes, and create an experience people can feel good about from start to finish.
What we are most known for is the way we blend professionalism with a personal touch. We understand that replacing a roof is a major investment and often comes during stressful circumstances, so we work hard to make the process smooth, honest, and transparent. We communicate clearly, show up when we say we will, keep jobsites clean, and treat every home like it belongs to our own family.
What sets us apart from many others is that we are truly hands-on and quality-focused. We don’t believe in cutting corners or hiding behind flashy sales tactics. We focus on doing the work the right way, using proven materials, skilled crews, and high standards. We’ve also built our company culture around loyalty, accountability, and pride in workmanship, which carries into every project we complete.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Ren Lyfe has become something people trust. The name represents resilience, second chances, family, and building something meaningful through hard work. It stands for more than roofing—it stands for legacy.
What I’d want readers to know is that when they choose Ren Lyfe, they’re not just hiring a contractor. They’re partnering with a company that genuinely cares about delivering quality, protecting their investment, and standing behind our word long after the job is complete.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
If I had to choose one quality that has been most important to my success, it would be resilience.
Business and life will test you in ways people don’t always see. There are moments of pressure, setbacks, disappointments, financial stress, and seasons where things don’t go according to plan. Talent matters, strategy matters, and hard work matters—but without resilience, it’s easy to quit when things get hard.
What has helped me most is the ability to keep moving forward, even when the road has been uncertain. To learn from losses instead of being defined by them. To rebuild when necessary. To stay steady under pressure and keep faith during the seasons where results haven’t matched the effort yet.
I also believe resilience creates other important qualities—discipline, patience, humility, grit, and perspective. It teaches you how to lead, how to adapt, and how to keep showing up for the people who depend on you.
If there’s one reason Ren Lyfe Roofing & Restoration is where it is today, it’s because we refused to stay down when challenges came. We kept learning, kept improving, and kept going.
