Today we’d like to introduce you to Seth Kezar.
Hi Seth, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve dedicated my life to service, education, and helping others. Over the past 25 years, I’ve worked in county, state, and federal law enforcement, including the last 16 years in federal law-enforcement. Throughout my career I’ve served as a Training Officer, Baton Instructor, and Crisis Negotiation Team Assistant Team Leader, and I’ve found the greatest fulfillment in mentoring others.
My passion for teaching led me to start Personal Protection Insight LLC, where I provide firearms safety and concealed carry education. My goal is to help people become safe, responsible, and confident firearm owners while emphasizing the legal and ethical responsibilities that come with self-defense.
Outside of work, I’m passionate about travel and photography and recently accomplished a lifelong goal of visiting all 50 states. Whether im teaching, serving my community, or exploring somewhere new with a camera, I strive to keep learning and make a positive impact wherever I can..
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Working in law enforcement while building a business has required a lot of sacrifice, long hours, and learning to balance competing priorities. Like many people, I’ve also experienced personal loss and setbacks that have challenged my perspective and resilience. Those experiences have taught me to stay adaptable, keep learning, and appreciate the people and opportunities around me. Every challenge has reinforced my commitment to serving others and becoming a better leader, instructor, and person.

Personal Protection Insight LLC was founded with one goal: helping people become safer, more confident, and more responsible. Our motto, “Protecting What Matters Most,” reflects everything we do. We provide concealed handgun licensing courses, firearms safety education, private instruction, and practical self-defense training in a welcoming environment for students of all experience levels.
What sets us apart is our focus on education rather than simply checking a box. Drawing on more than 25 years of law enforcement experience, I emphasize realworld decision making, legal responsibilities, conflict avoidance, and safe firearm handling. My goal is for every student to leave not only with the knowledge to carry legally, but with the confidence and judgment to carry responsibly.
I’m most proud of building a business that empowers people to protect themselves and their families while promoting safety, responsibility, and lifelong learning. Whether someone is purchasing their first firearm or looking to improve their skills, I want every student to leave better prepared to live our motto: Protecting What Matters Most.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I believe the firearms training industry will continue to grow as more people seek quality education, not just a permit. Students are looking for practical, scenario-based training that builds confidence, judgment, and safe decision-making.
Today, Personal Protection Insight offers Oregon Concealed Handgun License (CHL), Utah Concealed Firearm Permit (CFP), and, through a partnership, California Concealed Carry License training. My goal is to continue expanding by adding Arizona and New Mexico concealed carry certifications, giving students more options for lawful carry across the country.
I’m also excited about growing my mobile Smokeless Range simulator. It allows people to safely experience realistic shooting scenarios without live ammunition, making firearms training more accessible and less intimidating for new shooters. It also provides a fun, interactive way to educate the public while promoting responsible firearm ownership. I believe technology like this will play a major role in the future of firearms education by making training safer, more engaging, and available to more people.
