Today we’d like to introduce you to Shira Allen.
Hi Shira, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I Got started in the Beauty Industry in 2008 where i attended beauty school at the Aveda Institute in Portland. After graduating in 2009 i got my first job in the industry at a salon in Lake Oswego. I started out as a receptionist and salon assistant learning so much about how to not only do hair but learn how to run a salon. After 2 years I realized i needed more to life and i ended up moving to Las Vegas. Getting to work along side a celebrity hair stylist doing extensions was a wonderful honor and a great experience I’ll never forget. But after a few months into it i realized hair really wasn’t my calling and i ended up noticing waxing was a huge success in Las Vegas and waxing businesses were growing at a fast rate, which is when European wax center was forming. I was then hired on as being part of the first team at the first European wax center in vegas. Within a short 6 months i had a full clientele built. I spent the next 2 years mastering my waxing skills and then i was finally ready to be a business owner of my own so i ended up renting space at a salon nearby. I had that space from 2012-2019. In 2017 i made the decision i was ready to move back to the Pacific Northwest all because its where my heart is truly happiest. I chose Seattle area, Mercer island specifically in 2018 and i ended up building up a full clientele here as well. For nearly two years i flew back and forth between Las Vegas and Seattle every other week to keep up with the demand of my clientele. Right before Covid hit just weeks before i stopped commuting to vegas and planned to stay in Seattle. As the weeks went on in covid without working i realized Seattle wasn’t the place long term for me and Portland was where i needed to be. Seemed like the perfect time to move while everything was already up in the air globally. Ive now been back in Portland for 6 years with a thriving and growing business. In the last year i decided to start a second business in travel as a travel advisor. It’s so rewarding to get to do what i love weather its making people feel their best self or booking people the most unforgettable trips that turn into the best memories.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. Starting over in 3 different cities is rough. It takes a lot of patience, hard work and perseverance.

I specialize in lash services, waxing services and brows. I truly listen and understand each clients needs before recommending what services would be best for them. Not everyone needs every service. Ive become a Brand trainer for Evlo, its the newest UV lash system and i love educating others as we navigate the future of the lash world.
