Life & Work with Kelsey Adams of Oregon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Adams.

Hi Kelsey, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Opening a bridal hair and makeup company has been a 20 year journey for me. In my early 20’s I started to help my then boyfriend (now husband) with photoshoots offering hair and makeup when we both had no idea what we were doing but started to get involved in the creative community. Once I realized how much I loved styling hair I decided I needed to go to get licensed and started beauty school. I spent many many years working for beauty brands and dabbling in weddings and after 2020 I left my corporate job and returned to weddings fully in 2023.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Our biggest struggles as a business so far have been pacing our growth and being strategic with what we offer. I’ve been incredibly lucky to meet my match in business and friendship fellow artist, Molly Hill and have grown together with her support since 2023. Oregon City Bridal is only a success due to her support and she’s an integral part of the business.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We offer Hair and Makeup to couples looking for long lasting styles that stand up to outdoor elopements and rugged terrain. We specifically attract brides looking for soft, natural looking hair and makeup. Wedding mornings with us tend to involve a lot of laughter and our brides feeling like we are part of their crew vs a vendor.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
In life i find happiness in simplicity. I live on small acreage where my studio is located with my husband and 2 kids. I believe in slow living, quiet mornings and living a life of meaning vs hustle.
