Hi Selina Viscetto and Korynn West, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
At Juniper Tattoo Co., our artists all have a shared passion for the arts as well as self-expression. We have always taken interest in many forms of body modification, from tattooing, to aesthetics, piercings, and more. We have different stories but share a love for enhancing one’s looks.
We all have childhood stories of getting in trouble for drawing during class, and being the edgy kid who felt like they didn’t belong. Tattooing allows us to work in an alternative environment, as well as the freedom of being self-employed. It also empowers us to connect with like-minded people and embrace those qualities that set us apart.
After being exposed to certain flavors of tattoo culture, we have learned what we love and want to bring to our daily lives (and clients’ experience), versus what could be left behind. We built an environment with our own values and ideals in mind, that we can thrive in and be proud of.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Going against the grain led us to each other. We each had our own journey into the craft of tattooing: everything from old and new school apprenticeships to tattoo schools. We all feel very fortunate to now be in a space with like-minded people and mutual priorities.
Sharing our stories, both positive and negative, we have gained a lot of valuable knowledge as a team. We bridge the gap between generations, taking the best from both sides.
There is a whole spectrum of personalities and world views in this industry. As tattooing evolves, a lot of innovations, peer pressure, and cultural shifts appear. We respect our foundation while remaining open to changes when it is beneficial to both artist and client.
Any small business owner can remark on the struggles of self-employment. There is more to tattooing than meets the eye, and balancing it all takes dedication and sacrifice. In a career where people are known to get complacent, it is our goal to nurture ourselves, continue to grow, and remain connected.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Juniper is an all-female team. The studio is body-positive, inclusive to everyone, trauma-informed, and client comfort is prioritized with lots of amenities and privacy options.
As artists, we thrive on seeing the joy that sentimental tattoos bring to our clients, no matter how big or small. We are known for taking the time to facilitate projects that others may turn away. Unlike some studios, we will take the time to communicate realistic expectations with our clients, ensuring there are no surprises and the tattoo has longevity.
Our artists have varying aesthetics, but we all share a love of nature, tattoos that stand the test of time, and the healing power of the experience itself. We offer both custom body art and flash in most tattoo styles. Korynn offers a unique blend of neo traditional and fine line, while Selina’s work is painterly and ornamental. As mentors, we train our artists in a variety of styles, ensuring they understand the fundamentals before taking on specialties.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
We are passionate about creating a space where clients don’t need to know “tattoo culture” to be comfortable getting a tattoo.
Although we do take our job very seriously, we love to have a fun time! We often joke, share stories, and laugh with our clients. Our space offers the best of both worlds: a collaborative group environment as well as the option for private sessions.

Pricing:
- Our studio minimum is $100.
- We host 2-4 flash events per year, offering hand-drawn designs at special rates.
- Typically, we charge by the hour, anywhere from $100-200 depending on the artist.
