Meet Andrea Alric of Oregon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Alric.

Hi Andrea, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The foundation of my healing practice began in Kansas City. In 2005 I received my first two levels of Reiki and in 2006 I received my Certification in Massage and Bodywork. I was young, and while many of my friends were going the more traditional route of a 4-year college, I had some inherent knowing that I this was the path I was meant to follow…even if, back then, I didn’t quite understand where it would lead.

I took my first sabbatical to India at the age of 24, where I received my Reiki Master Teacher Certification while living in an ashram in a quiet jungle town in South India. There I studied Traditional Hatha Yoga and received my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification through the Sivananda lineage. That experience ignited a lifelong passion for travel, lifelong learning, and understanding both the world around me and the world within me.

Over the years, my work continued to evolve. Some modalities stayed, others fell away, but they all wove together this unique offering I share today. I studied Thai massage in Chiang Mai, Shamanic Breathwork in Bali, volunteered as a doula in Nairobi, taught yoga in Bali, and sought wisdom from mentors across five continents. Every experience added another layer to my understanding of what it truly means to heal.

In 2020, I began training in Jungian Life Coaching, which became the impetus of both my personal and professional life. Blending Eastern spirituality and Western psychology, I guide clients toward their own inner teacher through guided meditations and visualizations, shadow work, dream interpretation, compassionate presence and intuitive questioning. This was where I began witnessing healing a very different way. It wasn’t about giving people answers, but by helping them discover their own.

Eventually, I felt called back to the breathwork practices I had encountered years earlier. I found two wonderful guides in Costa Rica for a week-long breathwork retreat that completely changed the trajectory of my work. I was absolutely hooked and continued to study with these teachers in Virginia for their nine-month Breathwork Facilitator program.

Breathwork became the thread that unified every modality I’d spent years studying. Massage taught me to listen to the body. Reiki taught me to work with subtle energy. Yoga cultivated presence. Jungian psychology helped me understand the unconscious mind. Breathwork bridges them all. When words aren’t enough or the body has learned to protect itself, the breath often knows the way. I’ve witnessed people access grief, joy, clarity, and deep self-compassion simply by reconnecting with the wisdom that’s already within them.

Today, Jungian Life Coaching and Body-Based Breathwork sit at the heart of my work. And as my work continues to grow, I’ve been bringing together my love of healing, travel, and community by creating retreats centered around breathwork and personal transformation. There is something so powerful about bringing a group of strangers together to be vulnerable and to expand with one another. Whether I’m coaching, facilitating retreats, or guiding group experiences, my intention is always the same: to help people come home to themselves.

I’m currently expanding these retreats internationally and this year I’m traveling through Southeast Asia to explore retreat centers that align with this vision. My hope is to create experiences that honor local cultures while inviting participants to journey inward. I’ve found that when we step into unfamiliar landscapes, we’re often better able to explore our own inner landscape as well.
At the core of everything I do is the belief that life itself is our greatest teacher. Every person we meet, every place we visit, and every challenge we encounter becomes part of the tapestry of who we are becoming. My role is simply to create spaces where people can pause, breathe, and remember the wisdom that has always been within them.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wouldn’t necessarily call it a struggle, but I have learned that caring deeply for others requires an equally deep commitment to caring for myself. The work asks me to hold space for people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, and that comes with both beauty and responsibility.

Many times, I’m the first person to hear life-changing news. Perhaps a pregnancy, a loss, someone quietly saying they think their marriage is over, or feeling heartbreak from childhood experiences. I get to witness incredible celebrations, but I also sit with grief, uncertainty, and everything in between. It’s such an honor that people trust me with those parts of themselves, and I never take that lightly.

To hold space for others, I have to continually expand my own capacity. There are moments when a client’s story triggers something from one of my own life experiences and I’ve had to learn that it’s not something for me to avoid or push away, but realize that it’s part of the alchemy of this work. It’s the invitation to tend to my own heart, and continue healing, growing, and becoming more present myself.

That’s why my personal practices are non-negotiable. Yoga, meditation, and Breathwork help me stay grounded. Travel and intentional time away allow me to replenish my spirit. Music, laughter, and dance ignite that inner child and reminds me not to take life so seriously all the time. I also seek out my own healers, mentors, and guides because I believe we all need spaces where we can be held, too.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work has evolved through personal experience, professional trainings, world travel, and the profound inspiration I’ve received from my own mentors. I believe the people that we meet and the experiences that we have become our greatest classroom and I believe the people that are drawn to my work often become some of my greatest teachers.

The one-on-one sessions that excite me the most are the ones that blend a little bit of everything. We start with guided meditations and connecting to the body, emotions, and inner guidance. Through intuitive questioning, I help clients access their own inner teacher and set intentions for their healing experience. From there, they move to the table where we invite in conscious-connected breathwork to bring both conscious and unconscious material into awareness, cultivating healing and connection across their past, present, and future. We close with massage therapy and energy work to help integrate the experience and continue grounding and releasing whatever is ready to let go.

Over the years, I’ve sensed from my clients that we’re living through an epidemic of loneliness. Even people surrounded with friends and family are often longing for genuine, authentic connection. That’s one of the reasons I’ve fallen in love with creating retreats. While retreats require an incredible amount of work behind the scenes, they also feel somewhat effortless because they allow me to fully express many aspects of myself. Beyond witnessing the healing and transformation that happens within the group setting, I LOVE the creative outlet it provides…finding the beautiful venues, creating music playlists, creating tablescapes, and decorating the space to align with the theme of the retreat. (I even enjoy the spreadsheets)! It’s all part of the process and part of what makes the group setting the secret sauce for transformation.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t know if I’d call it luck but think of it in terms of attraction. The people who find my work often feel like mirrors. They reflect parts of myself that are also growing, healing, and evolving. While I may be the guide, the relationship is never one-sided. Every client teaches me something about being human. In many ways, I receive as much healing from them as they do from me. If that’s luck, then it’s the kind that’s created through showing up authentically and trusting that the right people will find you
