Meet Bethany Downs of Glow Collective Aesthetics And Laser

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bethany Downs.

Hi Bethany, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For many years, my greatest joy was being a stay at home mom, raising my children and supporting my family. When my life unexpectedly changed after a difficult divorce, I found myself needing to build a career from the ground up. It was intimidating to start over in my 40’s, but I knew I wanted to create something my children would be proud of.

After covid, I made the decision to go back to school and pursue advanced aesthetics. I fell in love with the combination of science, technology and helping people feel amazing in their own skin. I started my business in the basement of my home with a dream that I could build something meaningful.

As my client base grew, so did my vision. Today, Glow Collective Aesthetics & Laser has it’s own storefront. I have created a welcoming space focused on results, education, and helping every client feel their best.

I’m happily remarried, raising my 5 year old daughter and twin 17 year old boys, proving that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself. What began as one of the hardest seasons of my life became an opportunity to build a career and a business I truly love.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been challenging for sure! Going back to school after almost 25 years was very scary for me. My daughter was very young when I went back to school and that was a transition for all of us.

My husband has been so supportive opening the new location. From the build out to helping with day to day logistics, he has been there every step of the way.

Building clientele to support a store front is now my current project. Putting myself out there on social media has been intimidating, I am still working on overcoming that.

As you know, we’re big fans of Glow Collective Aesthetics And Laser. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Glow Collective was built on the belief that aesthetic treatments should be results driven, honest, and personalized. We specialize in advanced laser treatments, skin rejuvenation, acne treatments, and corrective skincare. We combine cutting edge technology from Sciton with customized treatment plans to help our clients achieve health skin.

What sets us apart is our commitment to continued education and integrity. We never believe in one size fits all treatments or selling services clients don’t need. Every treatment stems from understanding each client’s personal goals. Because I live in this community, every client relationship means something to me. I’m not just building a business here, I am raising my family here. My goal is to create a place people feel welcomed, cared for and excited to come back.

Beyond the treatments themselves, I’m most proud of the atmosphere we have created. Glow Collective is a modern, welcoming space where clients feel comfortable, cared for and empowered. Whether someone is visiting for their first HydraFacial or Moxi laser treatment, our goal is for everyone to leave feeling more confidant than when they walked in.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Looking back, starting my business was the biggest risk I’ve ever taken. I had gone from being a stay at home mom to starting over completely. I made the decision to invest in a storefront, extensive renovations, and advanced laser technology. It was a significant financial commitment that felt very overwhelming.

I’ve learned that taking risks doesn’t mean being fearless. It means doing your homework, making thoughtful decisions, and moving forward even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed. The biggest risk wasn’t investing in the equipment, or signing a lease. It was believing that I could build a completely new life. I’m grateful I took the chance.
